aura of foreboding

There are at least two different capes used in the film.  In Transylvania, it is presumed to be solid black on the inside.  In London, it has a grey lining.  We are getting both versions of Dracula from NECA and both capes.  This month, we are seeing the Transylvania figure.  No word on when the London figure will be released, but it has been teased.

Lugosi has never had one cape color they have used over another for "Lugosi is Dracula," formally the Broadway line.  Neither has Universal had one cape color preference.  Both switch between red and silver frequently.  (Generally, Universal uses red for generic Draculas, and silver for Lugosi Draculas, but I have seen both in the past 20 years.)  Lugosi had so many capes in his theatrical performances, he probably had a polka-dot lined one.   Suffice it to say, Lugosi could license out any number of cape colors and be accurate.  Universal is more limited.

Regardless, Lugosi isn't so much working with Universal, as they are seemingly just doing the Chaney thing and licensing out Bela's characters from the films in addition to his stage Dracula.  There is no longer any reference to the Broadway play in the marketing of the "Lugosi is Dracula" line.  NECA, being a premiere line, wanted Lugosi under their Universal Monsters banner, though, so they paid the higher price for both licenses simultaneously.

I seriously hope NECA will do a Dracula's Daughter (Countess Marya Zaleska) action figure in Ultimate Universal Monsters.
Would love so much another female monster, also it could be her first action figure.
A great character, seriously underrated, who deserves more. Another variant could be her black and white version, or Sandor. Also, I really liked the movie posters. Seeing them in the boxes would be really cool.
As accesories, could be the salt, the cape cloak, the wooden cross, and two or three interchangeable heads, hands to hold the cross, with the magic ring! I don't remember her footwear, but when she is with Garth after, she had open high heels footwear. At the beggining when she's burning Dracula's body, she's wearing a black dress with a "V" form in her chest and opened in her back area. She wears various dresses in all the movie, but my favorites are the first (with the cloak, when she's at the party in London, and in her first session with Garth.
Really I will love NECA forever if they do her.
Also some obscure characters, as Bela as Ygor in Son of Frankenstein, or the non Universal Mr Hyde (Paramount).
Or the possesed Dr Edelmann from House of Dracula.

I just got email notices from BBTS that the NECA The Invisible Man and Dracula figures are delayed and I won't be getting them in Nov 2022, and they should arrive in Jan 2023.

NECA is (re) releasing Head Knockers in August for Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and Wolf Man. As far as I can tell they look pretty much identical to the ones they released years ago, though I am happy that NECA will continue to do stuff with the Universal Monsters license:

Just saw that and was at first pretty shocked, then I realized...why not re-release them?
The sculpts are incredible and you got the license to UM and the actor's likenesses. Plus they're probably saving a buck or two on sculpting costs. Maybe they'll make ones they never did before like Invisible Man or Ygor?

I'd love to get an Invisible Man.

I'll pick up a Wolf Man this time around IF his nose remains painted.  The first run did not have a paint nose, so I skipped him.  Got the others.  Happy others can get these, as they were the most amazing UM pieces prior to the NECA figure line.

Wolfman has a painted nose. Mine does. He came from a regular store, so no one touched his nose up or anything. Got a pic of one unpainted? That's....got me curious......

At any rate, I would like to see them extend the line. Invisible Man, Werewolf of London, maybe Hunchback or Hyde.

I am seriously hoping we get an Ultimate Werewolf of London and Kharis.

That's interesting.  Every one I see online now has a painted nose.  I wonder if the original prototype image, back in the day, had an unpainted nose and that made me disinterested.  There was some reason I skipped the Wolf Man, which I normally would buy.  I know when they did a re-release, also back in the day, he had a painted nose in the stock photo, so maybe it was an early thing...

I ordered all my Neca Universal Monsters from the Horror HQ Amok Time Toys. The Lugosi Dracula and Karloff  Mummy that I decided to finally order have just arrived and these figures are awesome! Amok Time has carried all the UM dating back to the  Hasbro & Sideshow figures when they first came out.
