Speaking of blow guns, does anyone remember an all white blowgun less than 8 inches long that had rubber darts? It was sold in the late sixties in drugstores or deli restaurant counters near the candy. We used to put needles in the ends and shoot them in classmates behinds.  I'd love to know what it was called.

The seller had a rather interesting take on this listing's description?  Guess he couldn't remember that it was the Moon Monster.

I won that auction with the hopes of scanning it, cleaning it up and printing it out on our large format printer.

We'll see how THAT turns out.  I'll keep you guys posted.

Just wondering any news about this Monster?

I still have my moon monster.  He is awesome.  I saw the ad in the back of  a Sad Sack comic book and I had to have him.!  He rules!

Yea, I remember them! Care to take a guess how many of those darts were swallowed before it was taken off the market? Did it have glow in the dark darts?

hauntedhal

It might have had glow in the dark darts but I don't remember. They were white and might have glowed but I never tried to find out. We were always shooting them during the day.

I just got my moon monster.

Now to try to scan it and clean up the image.  That's going to be A LOT of work. *sigh*

It should be a fun project... in a sadistic sort of way.

That's essentially the ad I was talking about in another thread a few weeks ago.

Although we had the ads in 70s comic books, I bought the two-part plastic-sheet poster from an Australian mail order company called Magnamail. The "glow in the dark" eyes were simply two round diecut stickers.
Thiptho lapth,

Regards, Ian.

After reading the above ad for the 'four fingered' Frankenstein, I was wondering- just when did he 'terrorize the world'??

Probably after that guy put the bolt (?) in his forehead.

You know, as a kid, I did find myself talking to him.  He never answered me back, though.

I like that assistive apparatus on his right leg.  I wonder if Social Security disability insurance pays for that.

THIS ARE THE ROBOT PLANS I AM TALKING ABOUT.  Does anybody have them or ever order them?

I cringe to think about all of the disappointment resulting from those robot plans!  Since I would never thoroughly read the ads (instead relying on the pictures) I'm sure I would have expected to receive the full "robot" in the mail (for 15 cents).  Harsh lessons to learn.
How exactly do glow in the dark eyes flash?
"Uh--Mother-- m-my mother, uh--what is the phrase?--she isn't quite herself today."

Monster Bob

My first reaction to the ad (thinking like an 8 year old, which is easy) is, 'Why do I need to spend a dollar to figure out how to make a robot costume out of a Box?'

Plus, I'd figure the glow eyes deal was a sticker or something. If it were me, I'd give him 'Horrifing atomic-powered eye beacon lazers set to destruct the world!' (that is, a flashlight.)
