I started watching the Warner Oland "Charlie Chan" series on YouTube. The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Oland movies are lost. I'm watching the rest in order of release. Watched these, so far. Haven't seen any of them in over 40  years. They hold up pretty well!

The Black Camel
Charlie Chan in London
Charlie Chan in Paris
Charlie Chan in Egypt
Charlie Chan in Shanghai

I love Charlie Chan, but I've mostly seen the Sidney Toler films.  I'll have to check those out.

They have the Toler movies, too. Oland was always Charlie Chan, to me!  :)

I've got 3 Oland movies to go and then I'm going to watch the Spanish version of a lost Oland movie and a silent Chan that was remade as an Oland movie that is now lost.

Cool. Thanks.  I think I relate to the Toler films because they were the ones my dad and I watched on Saturday nights.  Looking forward to checking out Oland more.

Yes, even though I'm bewildered as to why "a wise man often confuses a bumblebee with a blackberry".

What prompted him to say that?
