As always, Mord. Great choice and album.

Their amazing guitarist, Andy Gill, just died. I just felt like playing this again to reminisce.
I saw them live on their first tour and was blown away.  It's one of my favorite guitar albums of all time.

Mord

Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure
Great Bowie-era rock masterpiece (says I). Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera, Andy Mackay and Paul Thompson...a literal who's who of 70s music greats. "In Every Dream Home  a Heartache" was used to great effect in Guy Richie's new gangster film, The Gentlemen.

Thanks Mars. All those bands are scheduled to perform at this year's Psycho Las Vegas festival. I'm gonna try to make it.  Mercyful Fate hasn't played in the US in years, and Down and Poison the Well haven't played in years period. Danzig is performing the entire Danzig II record. Plus At the Gates is performing the entire Slaughter of the Soul record. Old school rockers like Blue Oyster Cult and TSOL will be there. Would really look forward to seeing Boris and This Will Destroy You too.

Listening to oxy-rock playlist. If you've ever listened to these songs and/or consumed a certain type of pharmaceutical, you'll know why I use that term.

This Will Destroy You: Villa Del Refugio
Boris: Coma
Boris: Farewell
Warren Ellis: Motel Room
Alcest: Onyx

Mord

 Killing Joke (1980)
The Damned - Damned, Damned, Damned (1976)

I really miss the dominance of guitar music in popular culture. F**k it, I've never really been into popular anything.

Mord. Believe it or not it's still there, guitar-oriented music. Just not popular. Underground.
