I agree with you about Elm St. II, it really started to grow on me after a while.

Mord

Watched "Ms. 45" again. Love this little NYC vigilante film.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Mord

Watching the "Friday the 13th" all day marathon on EPIX. Ring in the New Year with a little '80s gorefest.

Wicked Lester

Over the weekend. Creature From the Black Lagoon trilogy. Have never seen all 3 in a row. Great stuff.
Today-How to Make a Monster. Fun flick but kind of a lame ending. Hideous Sun Demon. Basically similar to but the opposite of a Wolfman flick.

Mord

Took a break from the Fri. 13th marathon to watch the original "Last House on the Left" Didn't hold up as well as I remember. The acting was bad, the silly humor was annoying, and the hippie folk music was terrible. However, the rape, murder, and revenge scenes still pack a punch.

Memphremagog

Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde(1931)
Strangler Of the Swamp(1946)
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

Still of favorite of mine. I agree....acting very bad.

Same here, I still love it. There were two remakes that were OK, too. One was called "Chaos". That one featured the infamous, graphic "cutting off the nipples" scene that Craven omitted (he figured he'd already pushed the envelope enough for 1972). The other was the standard, same-name remake from a few years ago. Both have enough good scenes to watch for what they are (inferior remakes).

Happy New Year to you, HH. Just rang in the year with "I Spit on Your Grave" (1978). Great little film, though it suffered from the same style of over-the-top bad acting as "Last House" (with the exception of the phenomenal, and fully nude, Camille Keaton). I don't know, I just happen to be in the mood for blood, nudity, & revenge this time of year.

I love I Spit On Your Grave (1978). The DVD with the Joe Bob Briggs commentary is excellent. And, yes, Camille is quite fetching in that flick.

I have the Elite Millennium Edition with the great Joe Bob commentary track.

Also, I don't really mind the rough acting in films like Last House and I Spit On Your Grave. It's kind of a breath of fresh air and, in a way, somewhat more realistic at times than polished productions. After all, in real life we don't get umpteen takes, and oftentimes our "acting" is quite poor.

I agree. Actors back then had more charm than the current crop of serious thespians like Keanu Reeves and others. I have the same edition of "I Spit on Your Grave". The Briggs commentary is worth the price of the DVD on its own. BTW, what pic did you post? It's not showing up on my computer.

Shows okay for me. It's the older version of the Elite Entertainment DVD cover for I Spit On Your Grave (1978). I Googled for the Millennium Edition and it didn't show, and I didn't want to host a pic for something trivial so I posted what I found. The Millennium Edition has a box on the back listing the special features with Joe Bob's mug on it. Love that Joe Bob.

Poor Keanu. I wonder if that guy ever Googles himself and reads any of this UMA stuff about him.  ;D
