This is such sad news.  :'( I did not know Mark like many of you did, but I always noticed how positive & fun he was on here. He had a true passion for this hobby and enjoyed it to the fullest. My condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Mark.
How's that for a hairbrush, George Henry?

For those of you not of Facebook, Mark's daughter, Debbie, posted that his tombstone will have an image of King Kong on it. A true fan, to the end, and now, for eternity!

I can't think of a better memorial for Mark than Kong on his headstone.

As would I, but some people are funny about taking pix of headstones. One day, maybe we can ask the family, if they wouldn't mind.

Damn, just thinking about this has me tearing up again. Dammit, he was so full of life! He was such a good, kind, wonderful man. He had so much to give to this world, still.

I share your feelings Count. I haven't been on UMA hardly at all since I read about Mark, everything else just seemed so inconsequential and looking at UMA and thinking of UP would just remind me of how unfair life can be.

I find myself coming to UMA more. I want to check on people's posts regarding Mark's memorial collectible. I want to check on Wicked Lester's situation. Right now, the movies and collectibles don't concern me as much as the people do.

I've been feeling the same. It's hard to deal with out seeing his post and at the present moment it's all i can think about so i've visited less than normal.

It's understandable. Mark was a big presence on the boards. His personality and humor were like beacons to us all. His enthusiasm for all things horror was contagious. I was just thinking the other day that, one project he was really looking forward to, the Aussie Cryptid film 'Throwback," just got entered into its first film festival Down Under. He really wanted to see that finished film. Every time the filmmakers updated, he was more excited about it.

I know how you guys feel. It has been hard for me not just coming here but working in my basement. Mark was always so enthusiastic about the stuff I posted whether it was about a movie I watched or especially about any of my projects-artwork, sculpts and the Monster Show I was making with my friend Danny. We were going to do a 70s Bigfoot episode and Mark was so excited to see it. i told him we needed his expertise in the field and he was glad to help. We still will do this episode eventually and it will be dedicated to Mark. The monster sculpts I have been working on are also hard for me because Mark loved those things and I always looked forward to his comments so much. Damn it, it still gets me teared up!

I know how everyone is feeling. I remember that  just about a week before he passed I got a notification that my guestbook on my site was signed. It was Mark. He said he hadn't checked it out for awhile and was back for a visit. That post will always mean alot to me. The Big Guy will always have a place in our hearts. Even though I had personally not met him, we were friends. Just like I consider the UMA members and I have been lucky enough to meet 2 of us in person.

Opera Ghost

Greetings to all on this very sad circumstance.

Sorry to be away for so long, but life has it's way of keeping one a bit busy.

Thanks to my good friends Gary and Charlotte, I was alerted right away at the passing of our Mighty UP, and have been saddened as ALL OF YOU ARE as well.

I very much appreciate the Generals sentiment, that our Most Unknown of Primates is still Lurking here about the catacombs with us.

He touched us all in many special ways with his heart and talents. I will be adding to the Art thread as well once I am able to get them scanned--or perhaps I will just take photos.

Farewell for now, my friend.
