Just saw this awful news on Facebook and had to run "home" and see if it was true. I treasure the Big Foot he sculpted for me and will miss his friendship very much. I wanted to meet him in person and now will have to wait until we meet in Heaven. RIP Big Guy...

Just standing at the coffeemaker, and it hit me, hard. The tears are flowing.

For those of you not on Facebook, this wonderful photo was posted just days ago....

Oh no, not Mark! I feel like someone just punched me in the gut. Mark was such an awesome guy and one my best friends and hairy hominid brother here on the board. My deepest sympathies to Liz and his family.  :'(
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

He posted this one recently, too. It's not a recent pic, obviously. But, when I commented, "Not allowed to smoke in the house, huh?" He gave it a "like." Hope it brought him a smile.

I don't know what to say, Mark was one of the first UMA member to welcome me to the group. He always had great things to say to us about what we posted and had such a fantastic personality and sense of humor. Mark, my UMA buddy Rest In Peace.

You know I'm doubly saddened now for not getting to know Mark even better.

I miss him so much. I just talked to him on Saturday- to tell him that my husband & I were thinking of him and we got a YETI crossing trinket and I was mailing it out this week. It's just too unbelievable. He shared so much of his life with so many of us. We would talk about EVERYTHING- insomnia, physical therapy, beloved grandchildren, art, and family. He was one of my best friends, that I never even met face-to-face. Mark was truly special. I am so sorry that his family will have to live without his presence. They are wonderful people, especially his precious wife. Ms. Liz is such an amazing woman. I will reach out to her shortly. I am sure she is being well taken care of, by their wonderful children and other family members. They are good, kind people. I hope they get to see how many people at the UMA loved Mark so dearly. He was our Unknown Primate. I am just too saddened to think, but I know how much admiration I have for him & how there will never be another human being like him.  He was my 3rd Mark (my husband & son are "Marks") and I don't know who I will message when I want to gossip about UMA stuff. We were buddies.
Ms. Liz, Thank you for sharing your husband with us. He has left his sweet ol' spirit with all of us and we will never forget him! He was one of a kind.

My sympathy to all his family.  He made a great many friends here at the UMA--one of those people who seemed to be beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
