Now here's something you don't see every day:

This is a catalog set of four Lincoln Monsters and the very elusive "victim" doll. These were apparently only available as a set from Spiegel in the mid-70's, and this is only the second victim figure I've ever seen. Judging by the current bid, this has already been spotted by some Lincoln collectors with deep pockets, so I don't feel guilty about outing it at this point ;)

Wanna take bets on how much an obsessed mego collector will spend for a cardboard box?
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

How can this be a set of Lincoln Monsters, when it doesn't include Old Abe? :P
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

That is awesome-would love to get those figures some day! The "victim" just looks like a generic Barbie style doll and she's much smaller than the monsters, which makes her sort of in scale for tall blokes like Franky and the Mummy.
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

It's not even at half of what it's "worth".  >:(

WOW!!  Those are the cleanest lincolns I've ever seen.  What's worth more, the Victim or the box?

darkmonkeygod

Oh yeah, draculafan, I've lost count of the times that that sort of thing happens, and it never fails to really, really piss me off. I neve bid until the en Dow a timed auction anyway, but it's always disappointing to see something outted and watch the price driven up in small increments. Frankenstein73, I feel your pain, and boy oh boy do I miss the gentleman's agreement the board used to have regarding not posting live auctions if they aren't your auctions, and even then, only in the for sale section.

Just FYI...  I had seen it already, and I guarantee it isn't going to go cheap. I might be outbid, because I'm not paying anything for a box, but for dead mint Lincolns and victim, that is a huge find.

Mego Museum has a thread, too.

I knew what you meant. I actually paid for something via MO years ago, the mos were cashed and then, a bit more than a week later, I got a check in return with "sorry decided not to sell". Then what I bought turned up in another collectors collection. Exact objects, no question. I still have the sellers address on file and a warm feeling towards them. The PayPal refund thing I've had happens couple of times. It's always unpleasant, but, given the law of averages, some people do and they will find each other.

I had my bid at a level to keep it from getting pulled by the seller in case someone tried to offer them cash money to pull the auction, I had a snipe bid placed for my real amount I could afford without using a credit card, but I doubt it comes close to it at this point. I cant compete with the caliber of collector who will win it. I was hoping it would go somewhat unnoticed due to lincoln not being a keyword in the auction, but it was in a high traffic category, and had all the characters keyword too. so I knew it would be found. Its neat that it still exists in this condition, so at least we get to see it. hopefully it goes to someone who shares it with everyone. plaidstallians for instance does a good job of sharing, informing and showing great pictures.
