What do these figures usually go for individually?

Well there goes another one... >:( posted in here and outbid at the same time. Weird ...
Guys, at the time I posted the link, the high bid was well over $500.00. No way was this going to go cheap. I found the auction without even looking for it. I guarantee others did too well before I posted anything.

I don't want to get between anyone, but I think this was over $800 when I saw it and that was before this was posted.

Beautiful set.

It's a regular occurrence when a live auction is posted. Then, the people who are serious bid at the end after watching it nickel and dime up and up and up. How about the occurrence is seeing something end VERY high and then have it pop back up for sale because the high bidder was just some schlub with an axe to grind who miscalculated when trying to drive up the price for a real collector? It's happened a number of times on rare items and was one of the reasons eBay changed the ability to see the identities of other bidders.

I'm taking my moderator hat off here for a moment and I'm voicing my opinion on this.  I think it is just plain rude and discourteous to post about live auctions, and it makes me mad as well.  This auction rose over 3X after this posting started.  Too bad for the serious collector that may want this set - it's likely out of most people's reach.  It may have already been before, but who knows?  It didn't have many of the key identifiers in the listing, and it was under some people's radar; and so what if they already posted about it on another site.  The people that make these posts are not the people that are seriously bidding; they know it's out of reach so who cares, right?  Now everyone drive slow in the fast lane, don't use turn signals and bring a cart full of items to the express check out lane.  Or we could start thinking about other people in this world for once.  The Golden Rule, people.

OK, I've vented.  Don't really feel any better but I've vented.

That's alot of scratch for a set that comes with a plain cardboard box.   I can see why the figures are going for more considering how clean they are,   The "Victim" is just a dime store knockoff  of a fashion doll called "Dawn"   Someone is determined to become the legendary collector who scored a plain box that no one else has.   The auctions not for how cool the figures are, it's for how rare the box is.   For some collectors, rare outweighs cool 9/10 times.     Monster collecting is so much different,  some times folks sell things for 1/2 what they could get on Ebay.   They do this because I myself, and i'm sure others included, like the feeling of an item goig to a collector who will display it proudly.

I'll still take   Remcos over even The glow versions.

It has gone past the $1775 snipe I had set BEFORE this thread was started, so I have no problem saying this....  There is no way this was going to fly under the radar, and no way it was going to go cheap.  I agree about posting auctions for the most part, but this is a major find and a major piece and I don't have a problem with it being posted while live. I didn't think my bid was going to be enough, but I won't go more for it. Most of the time, I am not in favor of these things being posted first, but this time I can't see that it is going to make a hill of beans difference. There are some items that monster collectors rarely win, because collectors of other genre pay more.  Blue hair Mego Frankensteins, stuff like this....  the 60's nodders, etc. Most monster collectors simply do not assign as much value to these pieces as Mego collectors or Nodder collectors do. If it was called "Monstors in a box" it would be a different story.
