No to the crash but a workmate took the top off a van going under a low bridge this week....

Never been shot at but have been bottled, hit across the face with an iron bar and attacked with a knife (but not stabbed thankfully)

If only. The heat makes me miserable. In this heat the only way to cool down is by laying in an ice cold bath, at least in winter you can put on extra layers to keep warm. I long for winter with its early nights and the crunch of frost under your feet and the wind blowing the leaves from the trees. And you get Christmas and Halloween (and Bonfire Night depending on where you are)

BTW....you might have heard about Fires in the Antelope Valley/Palmdale of Southern California. Although I've not been affected, nor do I expect to be, as they are a few miles as the crow flies from our house, I do have co-workers and friends who are on fire watch. There have been evacuations, and loss of structures, but no reported loss of life as of yet.

BTW, I saw an episode of something or other, in which a gal lost her wedding ring in the ocean,  and somehow either a person with a metal was engaged to locate it, or happened to find it randomly, but the woman and her ring were reunited! What are the chances, like a bazillion to one?
