What was your high school prom song?

For me... it was 1985.  The band?  The Scorpions.... the song?  Still Loving You.

I know.... HILARIOUS.

I graduated over 30 years ago. I was what was considered a "burnout". I never went to a school dance in my whole life and blew off graduation and celebrated in my own way. I listened to Alice Cooper's Schools Out multiple times. Standing in the hot sun dealing with BS Stuffy pomp and circumstance or partying and R&R/Metal. The answer was obvious tho the P's were not too pleased. 8)

Same here! I wouldn't have been caught dead at my senior prom, no regrets!!

Love the term 'burnout'...  I wonder when it originated and if it's still in play at high schools.  I graduated 25 years ago----and it was a well-known term then.

We had burnouts, jocks, preppies, geeks, prudes.... what else was there?  Anyone?  I don't think I belonged to any one group.  I think that ticked some people off. I would hang out with anybody.  Sometimes when you're on sports teams and you don't religiously hang with them---you get grief for it from some people.... especially from the coaches.

I don't know what the song was, we left early to my parents' house where I was having the party and the keg was about to be tapped. (of course they were not there, although they did find out about it, but thats another story)

That was high school for me. Evidence of a wayward youth.

Outcasts...the ones who never belonged with any of the cliques, because they were a motley bunch.

Man, do I hear ya.  Mine was in 1971, in a small, private and "upscale" girls school.  We had geeks, dorks, society preppies and athletic  girls that everyone said were gay...   we also had social activists, free spirits and hippies.  I guess you could have called me a "gork"... (lol).

We didn't have a prom, because the Country Club wouln't accept our black classmates.  All I remember was an amateur rockband fronted by somebody's kid brother...pizza and cool aid.  I stuck my nose in, hoisted a toast to the class of '71, and then headed home to peace and quiet...

Peace and Quiet and George Gershwin!

Don't know, I was one of the burnouts.  I partied our own way, just didn't care for school dances.  Went to a couple around eight and ninth grade and thought they sucked.  Boring and lame so my friends and I would just go party and listen to metal music!

There was a Prom? I was a stoner back in high school, so I preferred to just hang out and party instead of the prom. Guess I thought school affairs were uncool or something.

So of the 7 respondents so far (not including myself):

5 did not go to their prom
1 did but left early
1 didn't have a prom (due to a segragationist Country Club)

That's outstanding!
