Prom Song

Wow!
Amazing.
Add another to the burnout pile.
I was an misfit by choice- didn't really fit into any click and I really had no desire to be in one.
Most everyone liked me but by nature I'm a stand-offish kinda guy.
Sure liked to party too!!
Creepy the number of responses silmilar to this.
We've just entered into some kinda' social twilight zone...

I did go too prom (It's the law isn't it?) in 1979
Ours was some Styx song. I think "Come sail away"

I went to the "prom", ( I went to a really poor school in Florida, so it was crude),because I was the Jr.class secretary. It was mandatory for me to go and yes I was a Spazz.  Our prom song was "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now. Sadly, there was a lot of Stoppin' of my class, as the years went by.

I wasn't exactly a "burn-out" but I did do a lot of partying.  I was kinda different coz the preps liked me because I was a decent artist, the jocks because I was strong and could bodyslam them if I wanted to (which they respected) and the stoners, coz I wasn't above gettin' baked with them from time to time.  Even the geeky, picked on students liked me coz I was nice to them.  I wasn't exactly popular though & most people probably didn't even know my name.  However, a couple of girls actually asked me to go to the prom, one when I was a freshman, and one as a senior. 

I must'ave found some mischief to get into, because I didn't go.  I'll have to check my yearbook (1974) to see what the theme & song was.

 Yeah, the Prom.  It was The Cars-Let the Good Times Roll.  They didn't roll much further.

Here's an incredibly stupid (but funny in retrospect) "chant" from my high school graduating class.
There was trouble at the pep rallies when this chant would break out:

Nitty gritty.
Possum titty.
Who the hell is fun?
Flim flam god damn.
Class of '71!

OK, I said it was stupid.

Yea, sounds like one! Don't know who came up with it. Some smart ass in the class.
BTW, I didn't go to the effing prom. I was a shy malcontent.
