Anyone else have the Monster Fiend Club t's?  I was so excited when these were announced and just had to have everyone of them!  I've retired all but 2 I think at this point.  The art was done by Ed Repka, to bad the Fiend Club didn't stick around long enough to issue the Mr. Hyde shirt.

I saved these images from my now shut down geocities Fiend Club site...maybe some day I'll dig out the real thing and take pics if anyone is interested.  Originally the writing seen here was not on them it just said Misfits above the pic and Fiend Club on back.

Phantom        Frankenstein       Nosferatu       Wolfman     Creature        Mummy

I actually do not have those and I tried to get a Phantom one, not an easy feat!

I'd imagine they are extremely hard to come by since the Fiend Club was only supposed to print what was ordered and payed for.  I believe the Fiend Club's highest enrollment was around 10,000 and I'm sure not everyone of those people bought the shirts.  There was talk about doing a new run, again for Fiend Club only, with some variation from the original shirts but that was before the club was shut down.

Here is Lon Chaney as the Phantom!!  Sold in Bleeder's DieGest Vol. I No. 2, September 1997 which only went out to 7700 people.  For me this was the best shirt of the series.

Next up offered in Bleeder's DieGest Vol. II No. 3, 1998 is Frankenstein and his monster.  Karloff is perfectly captured but I was never keen on Colin's bugged out eyes.

Bleeder's DieGest Vol. IV No.3, August 2000 brought the only non-Universal Monster, Nosferatu.  For whatever reason I had this shirt put away but looking at it the black is hardly faded so it's going back in my t-shirt drawer.

The spring of 2001 Bleeder's DieGest Vol. V No. 2 offered The Wolfman.  Certainly don't remember this image from any of Lon's movie appearances!?

And now the creature you've all been waiting for....The Creature From the Black Lagoon!  Offered up in Bleeder's DieGest Vol. VI No. 1 December 2001.  This is my second favorite of the series, not sure why but it is the Creature!

The last shirt offered from the Fiend Club was The Mummy in Bleeder's DieGest Vol. VII No. 4, 2002.  This shirt may actually knock the Creature down to third in my list of favorites.

I wish I would have saved that image of the Mr. Hyde artwork you just don't get enough images of Frederic March as Mr. Hyde!

Sorry for some blurry images my cameras display is broke so I'm shooting in the dark!

BTW, for the Rondo voting thing, I voted Jerry Only as an inductee for "MonsterKid".

I do think he has his place in Monsterkidness

Found this on Blabbermouth.net
MISFITS book author and veteran punk drummer Joel Gausten (PIGFACE, THE UNDEAD, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN) has posted an unreleased MISFITS rehearsal demo of "Who Killed Marilyn?" at this location. The site also includes an in-depth blog (entitled "15 Years Ago Today...") detailing the recording of this and the other featured MISFITS demos.

Like Gausten's previously-posted demos ("London Dungeon", "Astro Zombies", "Hatebreeders", "Angelf&*%", "She", "Nike A Go Go" and "I Turned Into A Martian"), "Who Killed Marilyn?" was recorded on February 25, 1995 — exactly 15 years ago — at the MISFITS' rehearsal compound in New Jersey. The recording features Jerry Only on bass, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein on guitar, Eric Weiss on vocals and a 17-year-old Gausten on drums. The song was part of an 11-song demo recording engineered by MISFITS drummer-to-be, Dr. Chud. These tracks were recorded several months prior to Michale Graves becoming the band's official singer.

"Earlier this week, I realized that it would soon be 15 years since this recording session took place, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate that date," explains Gausten. "'Who Killed Marilyn?' remains a favorite MISFITS song of mine, and it was a blast to dig out this recording, go down memory lane and hear a 17-year-old me make noise with Jerry and Doyle!"

At the time of the recording, Gausten had been serving as one of the band's fill-in rehearsal drummers while the group was auditioning vocalists. Gausten detailed his experiences with the MISFITS in his out-of-print 2006 book, "Tales of Horror: The History of The Misfits & The Undead", which will be re-released this summer as a deluxe edition with a new cover by artist Shannon Gardner-Gausten, updated/expanded information on both the MISFITS and THE UNDEAD and a brand-new interview with former MISFITS drummer "Mr. Jim" Catania.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to this one!....Mr. Jim lives in the next town over and last year I JUST MISSED him leaving the studio, apparently Franche Coma was there as well...damnit!

Glenn's lyric book is finally hitting the street.  Covering all era's; Misfits, Samhain and Danzig!

Official announcement~http://www.danzig-verotik.com/verotik/news.html

Lyric listing posted at the7thhouse:
Lady Lucifera
Naked Witch
Liberskull
Warlok
Satan's Crucifixion
Invocation
It's Coming Down
Cold, Cold Rain
Angel of the 7th Dawn
When Death Had No Name

Descent
Death In Its Arms
Lords of the Left Hand
Unholy Passion

Earth A.D.
Hellhound
Death Comes Ripping
Wolfsblood
Die, Die My Darling
American Nightmare
Ghouls Night Out
Horror Business

Glad to see a decent amount of Misfits songs but would have loved more Samhain in the book.  The purpose was to stick with songs that have not had Glenn officially released the lyrics though. As many have stated this was a cool concept but Glenn missed the boat he could have done 3 separate volumes, one for each band.  Then again depending on sales their could always be follow up lyric book releases.  As it is I won't run out and buy this right away but will eventually pick it up at some point.

I'm going to check that book out. Thanks for the info.

This song sums it up for me, and still one of my favorites......................... >:D

STATIC, STATIC, STATIC....................

We're on a video rage
Static, static, static
We're on a video rage

We're all blue from projection tubes
We're all blue from projection tubes

This is the static age we live in
Our eyes criss-cross, hold and gaze
This is the static age we live in

Breathe in
Catch your radiation
Blue disease and
Turning, tossing

This is a static age
Our very static age
This is a static age

Static, static, static
We're on a video rage
Static, static, static
We're on a video rage

And we're all blue from projection tubes
We're all blue from projection tubes

I just pulled out the Misfits box set tonight and enjoyed listening to the first disc.  I haven't heard that stuff in years.  I think a lot of those versions were the ones on the 45's that you'd get from the Fiend Club back when I was a kid.  The CD is nice, but give me the sound of that vinyl any day.  That brings back the real memories!

Disc 1 does indeed contain many of the songs only found on 7" vinyl back in the day!  Though the second half, Collection II, has a lot of versions that Glenn redid with Eerie in 1986.  I know a lot of people prefer to hear that hiss and popping only found on vinyl but that wasn't how anything was supposed to sound back then it was just a flaw in the whole system of vinyl, at least cassette still managed to maintain the hiss!

I don't prefer the hiss and pop, but I do prefer the fuller sound of vinyl.  Especially with the music that I learned to love from listening to records.
