There's some stuff on YouTube and whatnot.  Here's one.

Very cool, is it me or was there a strong Dead Kennedys influence for you guys?? What did you play?

I play bass, and I hope there's not a Dead Kennedy's influence :D  Jello told a friend of mine once that we were the only band they ever played on a bill with who refused to talk to them or hang out with them.

LOL I'm not so sure if its appropriate to laugh at that or not but I admit I am! What was the reasoning behind that??

It's a long story and not even sure I could tell it where it would make a lot of sense at this point, but while I shared a stage with them several times and saw them live several other times, I was never a fan of Jello.

What?  There's always room for Jello!!  Sorry, had to do it...at least before anyone else did!

BlackLagoon

Its funny, I was introduced to him in a different way. I was always a "metal guy" and in the mid 90's I guess that Alternative Tentacles label started signing some metal acts...all I heard from bands like Sepultura, Napalm Death, Brujeria, etc etc..was this Jello Biafra guy...when I finally heard his voice I thought this is him? That is the single worst vocalist I ever heard in my life!!!...Then again, I was a metal guy...then I started finding out more about his political views and things of that nature, I understood more why so many "aggressive musicians" stood by him.

As far as DK goes, I'll give em credit, but musically they didn't do a whole lot for me, Holiday is cool, California is cool..but other then that its just not as "punchy" for my taste.

On a side note, I used to play bass too and still mess around once in a blue moon, but vocals are my primary in the band. Still I keep an old Ibanez and a fretless Yamaha nearby just in case.

I played the other night with a different band.  We've been doing some shows for fun.

GRACELAND live at Prophet Bar February, 2010

Very cool..though I kept hoping you were gonna peak your head out some!

I'd love to play out. Our drummer quit and the people showing up to fill his spot just arent up to snuff, so we rehearse and play the drum tracks through the PA.

Not a great vid...but here is a song off of our last E.P.

"12/17/1981    The Misfits appeared as the surprise headlining band (replacing Tenpole Tudor) at The Ritz in New York City with The Undead and Heart Attack opening. During The Undead's set, members of The Misfits threw cups and bottles at Bobby Steele (now The Undead's guitarist and vocalist), prompting the audience to throw ice at The Misfits when they took the stage. Some of Danzig's angry interjections during the set that night were included on Evilive. When the band performed "Teenagers From Mars," Danzig changed the chorus to mock Bobby, who was watching from the balcony. He repeated this at several other shows in the months that followed. The entire show was recorded on audio."

If you've never heard any of the alternate versions of Teenagers from Mars they are worth a listen, juvenile yes, but funny nonetheless.  In edited form here are some of Glenn's masterful lyrics are, "Bobby Steele's an a-hole lady part, Bobby Steele's an f'n lady part, Bobby Steele and The Undead suck...." and it just goes on from there!  Also if you've never checked out MisfitsCentral.com you must, it's the most complete history of The Misfits there is!

LOL That is hysterical. I have heard the Bobby Steele/Teenagers lyrics on a bootleg and I almost fell over laughing! Especially what Jerry says at the end.

Though I did hear some Undead before and it really wasnt half bad.

Besides the Eerie Von book my wife got me for Valentine's Day she also got me a book with a rather long title but in short it's Gimme Something Better and it details the Bay area punk scene.  I really hadn't looked thru it until last night and immediately my eyes are drawn to chapter 23; Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight?.  The chapter (3 pgs) is obviously about The Misfits but more importantly about the infamous Doyle guitar bashing incident that took place on April 10th, 1982 at the Elite Club in San Francisco.  According to the book The Misfits were just being d*cks and taunting the crowd prompting the crowd to thru beer cans & bottles (some full) at them, After 5 songs Rocky & Googy jumped into the crowd at which point a brawl broke out.  At some point Doyle swung his guitar down with both hands onto some kids head.  Years later when Glenn returned with Samhain he reportedly told Greg Oropeza that he was horrified by his bandmates actions and that it was the worst night of his life.

The Misfits had always insisted that Doyle was trying to use his guitar to pull the main instigator up toward the stage resulting in the head injury.  There used to be a pic floating around the web of the guitar in question and I can't believe that that damage was done from just trying to hook someone in from the crowd.  That thing was definitely brought down with some force behind it.

Very cool, your drummer gets on it!  Your vocals sound like a cross between El Duce and that guy in Gojira to me.  I like it!
