Thanks for viewing Doc's Den of Horror talk show...each evening I will interview another member, with their permission of course.

Our first guest is Unknown Primate, many of you UMAniacs already know him or of him...but did ya know he is an ex-pro wrestler??
So give a huge round of applause for Unknown Primate!!

Thanks for joining me here as the very first guest...
You were at one time in yer life, a Pro-Wrestler?
For How long??

Unknown Primate

Good to be here, Doc...

About 12 years total, as an active & semi-active wrestler.  Officlally licensed from 1982-1987.  Back in those days, you had to be licensed by each state's Athletic Commission.  I still wrestled up to around 1993 and have been involved off & on up to 2006.

Doc?  Doc?   Doc?

Dr.Teufel Geist

sorry... had to fix a cabinet door that fell...cheap sets!!

So did you ever wrestle with any big names..like Hulk Hogan?? Iron Sheik??
wrestle in any Hardcore style matches??
What was yer name in wrestling,if I can ask that??

Unknown Primate

Yeah, at one time or another, and not necessarily during their "superstar" status.  I rassled Hillbilly Jim, Randy Savage, Cousin Junior, Bobo Brazil (that's an old timer for ya there), Billy Travis, Jerry Lawler and worked on cards with guys like Hacksaw Duggan & Buff Bagwell.

I did work in some matches that could be considered "hardcore" like chain matches, barbarian battle royals, etc. but not in the style of the last 10 years or so.

Some aliases I went under were:  The Brute, Golden Gorilla, Axeman, Madman Mahoney, etc.  When I was 18, I wrestled as Buford The Bull in what amounted to a "backyard wrestling federation".  Dang, that's 36 years ago!

Did ya ever wanna be a part of the Big names in wrestling..like WWE/WCW/ECW/???
Did ya ever obtain Championship Gold??
Do you miss wrestling??
Would you ever consider returning??

Unknown Primate

Yes, I was hoping I could make the "Big Time" as a successful Monster Heel and retire at age 45.  I had some bad luck, injury-wise, and about the time I thought I was gonna move up in the business, my best years were behind me!!  The business changed dramatically about the same time, also.

I obtained Championship Gold once in Georgetown, Kentucky, when I attacked the Mid-Continental Heavyweight Champion, gorilla-slammed him and stole his belt...  The State Athletic Commission made me give it back.

I miss the old days.  I'm not cut out for the New Age version.  It's a totally different production.

I get repeated requests from an ol' pal of mine who is part owner of WORLD WRESTLING SUPERSTARS.  He wants me involved, either as a manager, booker or whatever.  I've done a few gigs for them.  In 2006, they inducted me into their Independent Wrestling Hall Of Fame, along with Bobo Brazil, Jr., Greg "The Hammer" Valentine & Dr. Jerry Graham, Jr.  Buff Bagwell & Scott Steiner were on the card that night, also.

To answer the question, I may do a few shows here and there, but that's about it.

How long have ya been into Monsters???
Who are yer Favorites???
I would dare to say that King Kong is one of yer faves...
Do you collect Monster stuff???
What's your fave horror movie of all time??
Who do you think is a better Horror Director??

Unknown Primate

Been into monsters for about 48-49 years, from when I first saw - you guessed it - KING KONG!

My favorites off the top of my head are KONG, FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER, THE WOLF MAN, THE CREATURE, KHARIS, GODZILLA, YMIR, CYCLOPS (from 7th Voyage), basically, most of the classics.  I might have to add Ray's BIGFOOT from his "The Devil At Lost Creek".

I collect some monster stuff, but not everything out there.  My stuff ranges from action figures, models, books, mags, etc. to dvds & reprinted posters.  90% of which are in plastic tubs!  My collection is way small compared to the ones I've seen on the UMA.

KING KONG (1933) is my favorite movie of all time.  If I had to pick one horror fave that sums up my love for the genre, I'd have to go with the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.

For the 70's/early 80's, Tobe Hooper...  Currently, I'm not sure.

Do you believe Bogfoot is a real creature??
What do you think it is??
What about other Legends...Nessie,Chupacabra,Werewolves of Wisconnsin...do you think they exist??

Dr.Teufel Geist

This guy reminds me of you...is  he a Relative??
WWE's Apeman.....Mike Knox.

Unknown Primate

#12
Knox has more hair, but he's not as cute as me.

Bigfoot:  I think it's likely that somewhere on this big ol' earth, there could possibly be a huge, hairy man-like creature lurking somewhere that has not yet been classified.  Whether a relic of Gigantopithecus Blacki or some other primate, I have no idea.  They either exist or they don't.  Something is out there...  I think.

Being a huge monster fan, I obviously wish that there was some truth to all these legends.  Nessie, Mothman, Werewolves, Chupacabras, etc.  I think you have to look past everything you think you know about this vast universe in order to take seriously, the existence of monsters.  And I do, indeed.  If they don't pop up outside my window, it doesn't mean it hasn't happened to someone else.
