It's precisely these bid incentives though that rub me the wrong way. "Cut the crap jerk and just describe your item as accurately as possible. Don't bend/embellish the truth. It's not a vacuum cleaner you're selling so spare the puffery."

A few thoughts ...

I believe that Hake's uses terms such as "second best known" in their auction catalogs. ::)

Sorry Hepcat,  but even if you wanted to bid on the MMMSL or the wallets, the seller doesn't ship to Canada. :(

If the seller does get a really high price, it's more than likely that other MMMSLs and wallets might come out of the woodwork.

I recall this set of wallets listed at least once before by the seller during the last few years.  I remember the vague descriptions, uncertainty of cards contained and a photo of only one side and none inside. Back then he was asking about 2K, and they didn't sell. The price has risen on these since he previously listed them and I wish him well. Of course better details would increase his chances of someone purchasing them, but that is his decision.

Remember, the more attention items receive on our forum, the higher the realized auction selling prices.

Given that old mirrors are prone to de-silvering, interior pictures for these wallets are a must.

I asked about the Monster Colors paint set if he would  ship to Canada... his response was...

Hi Denis, The Monster Colors is a repro but it will be up soon. Feel free to bid I will sent to Canada.

Frankenstein on front with clasp and phantom on back -

Welcome to the UMA, Al (is it?)!

Don't remember if I've seen that pairing, but I have seen one, or two, that weren't the usual combos. (Frank/Drac, Creature/Wolf, Phantom/Mummy).

I'm sure they were just mistakes. The person putting them together picked up the wrong picture, or they ran out of the correct one.

Huh?! You fellows are badly mistaken here. There were four different Standard Plastics monster wallets and Phantom-Frankenstein was one of the four standard pairings:

???

In fact it's one of the two I have which I pictured on this earlier page:

What about the Mummy/Dracula wallet?

With Frank/Drac, Creature/Wolf, Phantom/Mummy that makes 5.

I'm not aware of a Phantom-Mummy wallet though. It'd be a good one, but like I say its existence would come as a surprise to me.

I swear I saw one, but I don't know if I have any pics.

It's interesting. I had a Creature-Wolfman wallet as a kid and I was aware of the Frankenstein-Dracula one. I therefore naturally assumed that the Mummy wallet would be with the Phantom of the Opera. I was therefore surprised when I learned that this was not the case when I acquired my Mummy-Dracula wallet some twelve years ago.
