I just signed up here ater stumbling upon the forum via Google, 'somehow'. :) I've read a few posts & seen some pics, looks like a neat place! I've been a Frankenstein (Karloff type) since I was a little kid in the '60s. My name is first Frank, tho I don't think that has anything to do with being a Frankenstein fan. I began building plastic models in the early '70s. Mostly airplanes, but most of the Aurora monster models, including Monster Scenes (& a lot of the Prehistoric Scenes if you want to include them). About 15 or so years ago, I discovered resin monster models & re-pops. I've built a number of Karloff type Frankenstein models. I also can't forget The Bride, & she's up there too. As far as Frankenstein Monsters go, my fav is, first & foremost, Karloff, with Strange next. Lugosi & Chaney, Jr. are tied at the end. My fav Peter Cushing/Hammer Studios Frankenstein is "The Evil of Frankenstein", I guess due to its collaboration with Universal & its use of their equipment. "Young Frankenstein" is, well, it is what it is. I like the 2 Frankenstein movies from the early '90s (DeNiro & Quaid) due to their attempt at being more like the novel. Nothing beats the Universal Frankensteins tho! In addition to models, well, I've always wanted a life-sized Monster, so about 2 years ago I found a Karloff vinyl bust on eBay. I got it & bought a mannequin & a costume (cheaper than buying a real suit) & took to my shop a few evenings & made a Monster! Of course, after a few weeks of showing him off, I was asked about The Bride, so I bought a female mannequin, wig & another costume for her & went to work. She's kinda hot even! :) When I have time & figure out how to post pics, I'll do so. I even made a tilting table for displaying. Getting away from The Monster, my next favs are The Creature from the Black Lagoon & Godzilla.
