MrZero

Hello everyone!  I ended up on threads from this forum several times when doing google searches for various monster questions that I had.  The last time that happened, I ended up on here for an hour or so reading all kinds of cool posts, so I thought I'd join up!

Dr. Madd- It's comforting to know that there are other "Southern" monster lovers out here! Although western Tennessee is a mystery to me, I have been to Chattanooga several times (probably nowhere near you) and I admire your state's landscape. It seems like all the monster action goes on up north and the east coast...

There are a LOT of monster lovers in the South.  Here in Atlanta, we have the Silver Scream Spook Show where once a month they have a live horror movie host along with his sidekick and a troop of burlesque dancers, musicians and actors put on a show and play an old horror movie (complete with program!) at one of the local movie theaters.  There are local horror movie hosted TV shows like Monster Creature Feature with Ormon Grimsby up in North Carolina (and one that I can't think of in Tennessee).   There's also The Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Convention in April in Nashville, TN; Drive-Invasion at the Starlight Six drive in theater in Atlanta, GA; Con-Nooga which is a horror-heavy, multi-fandom convention in February in Chattanooga, TN; Spooky Horror's Ultimate Horror Weekend in Orlando, FL; The Nashville Comic and Horror Festival in Nashville, TN; to name a few.  Plus there are many horror rock, gothabilly and psychobilly bands down south.  Oh, and ghost tours in Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC.  There's a lot going on if you know where to look!  ;)

Long time reader. Not really a big fan of forums but every here seems really nice and well informed. I'm a toy guy with a store in Tucson. I'm based in Tokyo where I make toys in JP vinyl and buy and sell toys from friends of mine here as well. Good times. I'd like to post pics of the stuff I do but wonder if it will bother people for being too far the forum or perceived as just trying to sell stuff. So I'll probably just say a loyal reader. Such is the plight of the toy nerd/store owner.

foolish mortal

First off, I am a "foolish mortal" and LOVE the Haunted Mansion! ;D The real name is Dwayne from wild and wonderful West Virginia.
I have been a classic monster fan since childhood and just recently started collecting monster toys from the 70's & 80's. Thanks to the Monster Toy Gallery which made me remember how freaking sweet these toys were!!! and also led me to this site 8) My other collecting interest are movie props and wardrobe, mainly horror... my holy grail is Duane Jone's  hero rifle from Night of the Living Dead ;) love it. Anyway, I'm really glad to be a part of such a great community of monster minded people, and look forward to joining in on the fun. I'll hurry back and won't forget to bring my death certificate!

toys-of-terror

Hello
Im toys-of-terror, I've been collecting monster toys, props, posters and more for about 20 years since i was a teenager, My love like many of you for the darker side of things started when i was child when my dear ol' father brought home THE EVIL DEAD on beta I was terrified and fascinated all at the same time. I used to be a full time TOY Dealer traveling the country selling vintage and new toys and comics. I owned my on comic shop for a very brief period and now just sell toys and comics on the side to pay for the stuff i want to keep for my self. I lover monsters from all eras, From frankenstein to jason voorhees I love it all but my favorite toys are from the 60's, they just have a certain feel to them.  I sell a good bit of stuff on ebay as well but i do more buying than selling anymore. I am glad i finally became a UMA member, I've been to the sight for info on a number of occassions and find that there is no better place for information on the rare stuff you can't find an answer for anyhwere else. Thank you all for your warm welcome and i look forward to the new year as UMA member.
