Best of the Crooners

Well, as much as I said I would "never like this crap" as a kid--all the Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby...it rubbed off, and I admit to having "Rat Pack" cds next to my "Slayer" cds.

In my house, Sinatra and I think even more so Dean Martin were huge--at my grandmother's place, you could hear Perry Como playing as you walked up the driveway.

The discussion still gets heated over who has the best Christmas records--and for my money, its Bing.

So, when you need something relaxing and smooth--who is your  favorite?

Now, my opinion's going to be colored a bit by my own professional leanings, but I've always thought that Andy Williams is a real crooner, one of the last of a dying school which includes Steve Lawrence, Tony Bennett and Jack Jones.
And talk about best Christmas records? Andy. Mr. Christmas.

If you don't get something out of hearing "It's the most wonderful time of the year" with Andy Williams singing--you probably dont care much for the holiday.

I think Andy has a much more...hmmmm..powerful delivery? Maybe more so then your Franks and Deans--if that makes sense.

Number 3 is a toss up, with Perry Como, Buddy Clark and Jack Leonard.
