I know there are a few King Diamond or Mercyful Fate Fans. Tell  some of you favorite songs,
artwork, memory or anything. I added every king diamond and mercyful fate album because i didn't want someone's favorite album not to be up there.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

My band was on the same record label (Roadrunner) back around the same time when The Fate had hit the schene. We weren't lucky enough to play with them but we did end up playing with The Great Kat ans Sacred Reich. but I've always like King Diamond.
Even named one of our dogs Abigail.

I liked MF's "Mellisa" and "Don't Break the Oath".

I always thought of them as a darker edge Maiden.

Yea, Mellisa is probably MF's best album. In my opinon MF's stuff is better than King Diamonds solo. King Diamond's solo stuff is great but i think MF is better to me.

I have to admit King Diamond's Conspiracy album cover is awesome. King's makeup is wicked and probably the coolest looking.
I read in a magazine that gene simmons sued king over the make up being to similar to his.

My old band's name was Quick Change. We had an album out named "Circus of Death" back in 1988 on Roadrunner Records.
We were more of a comedic thrash metal somewhat like Anthrax. Though we were from Chicago, the album was an inport in the USA. It got really good reviews overseas back in the 80's. We were even on the charts overseas. I remember at one time we were number 15 in Paris and something like #5 in Belgum. The band had internal problems and split in 1990.
The album was released by Metal Mind records a few years ago. You can find the release on ebay for about $15.00 but I have seen original 1988 CD's go for over $100.00 . It is deffinately that 80's thrash / speedmetal sound so the music is dated.
As for the Great Kat, she was on Roadrunner too. She was more of a dirty metal with a screeching violin added.

Don't break the Oath........these were the first Mercyful Fate LPs I had bought
when I went to high school in "84".   Oath is an incredible album.
