Apparently Christopher Lee is slated to appear in a new adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's story Viy directed by Robert Englund.  For those who haven't read it, Viy is a great classic horror tale.  I've also seen the atmospheric 1967 Russian film and enjoyed that very much as well.

Here's the brief article on Lee's casting..

Oh, cool. Honestly, I'd completely forgotten about the Russian version. I remember there being a brief moment of fame for it when it was released on dvd some years back, but somehow I never did get around to seeing it.

I've never seen the movie or read the book (man, do I feel dumb). I read about it on IMDB & now I must go out & find this DVD.
