UMA 4 Best Web Site/Fan Event at Rondos - Vote 2day!

It's that time of year again. You know, the time when I beg, plead, and cry out for all UMA members to head on over to the Rondo Awards web site and vote for the UMA for best web site. We are honored to be a nominee for not only best web site, but for best fan event too! The UMA Toy Exhibit strikes again! Let's see if we can finally win this thing once and for all! With over 2500 members strong, we should be able to make a strong push towards claiming gold! But we can't do it without everyone here participating! Even if you don't have an interest in the other categories, please don't let that stop you from voting! You don't have to vote in every category if you don't want to. But please consider setting some time aside to vote for the UMA for best web site?

I would also point out that this prize (should we win it) doesn't lay claim to any one individual. It belongs to all of us! We are a community, an army of one! A vote for the UMA is a vote for yourselves. I really believe it's ours if we want it, but you can't expect the "other guy" to win it for you. You have to place your own vote! We're depending on it. Our strength is in our numbers, so let's show 'em what we got!

Should we win, I guarantee you we will all walk tall to the podium together to receive our award. As many of us as possible. We will share the award amongst us. Drink wine from it. Dance circles around it. And then proudly display it on our home page for all the world to see! If you're going to Wonderfest, and we win this thing, then you and everyone else who is there will be invited to accept the award on behalf of the UMA! That's a promise!

General, I want to make this topic "sticky" because it's important. I feel VERY strongly that the UMA Traveling Terror-iffic Toy Tour is worthy of a vote for "Best Event." (Rivalled mainly by Joe Moe's huge Forry Tribute Event, IMHO, although ALL the fan events are worthy; some great things happened in 2009!)

Also, would UMA troops please consider voting late UMA member Linda Miller for "Artist of the Year"? Her art was featured in special displays at Wonderfest and Monster Bash, and my article, (also Rondo nominated) "The Art of Linda Miller" was published in SCARLET magazine last summer. (You can see the article at http://drunkenseveredhead.blogspot.com/. Although she passed on in 2008, much of her work first appeared in 2009. We CAN get Linda the Rondo! THIS is the year where we can get momentum for one of UMA's best soldiers ever!

P.S. Her art may be appearing in a national horror comic book and in yet a third exhibit this year!

We're closing in the final days of voting for the 2009 Rondo awards. Have you cast your vote yet? If not, I hope you'll consider voting for the UMA for best web site. Let's finally win this thing! A vote for the UMA is a vote for yourself. We are afterall an army of one. With over 2600 members, we should be able to claim gold. But we need everyone's vote to do it! As I've said before, if we win the Rondo, I will send the award on a cross country tour where all members may have a short time enjoying it.
