I like the Mummy "M."  One look and you know exactly what it is.  The furry "M" looked like it might represent a Muppet, Wookie, furry slippers, who knows.

Fester

I like both versions.

However the M for Mummy looks a tad cleaner than the M made of wolfman does.  Maybe with the fur more combed--that way it doesn't look so Fozzy Bear--Not that there is anything wrong with that.

For the back  maybe a slogan like: "In Touch With Our Inner Monsters"

The Spangler

I really like Mike C's revised version.  I think simple white lettering on an all black shirt would reflect the black and white origins of the Uni monsters nicely, but with a slogan like-"In Glorious Black & White".  Or- "UMA...Its a Black & White Thing".

B&W ..sure..Just make sure it glows in the dark :)

I wonder if we could do some kind of play on the phrase, "A good cast is worth repeating."
Raymond Castile

Or maybe we could just say, "Have a potato."

And with "Have a potato," we could show an illustration of someone sticking up their middle finger, but with a baked potato stuck on it.  Or maybe I could just customize my own shirt to include that.

Hmmm... still trying to work in the potato angle, Ray  ;) ... but for the moment, here's the less-hastily sketched version with the new Wolfman 'M':

Even if folks still don't completely dig it, it is surely better than the original drawing. I'm really liking the Mummy too, no doubt... but this 'M' really says monster to me now.

But again, these are just my own sketches, anyone else have some drawn ideas? I'd sure love to see them!

The furry "M" still doesn't do it for me.  Yes, it is better than the first try.  But I still see something off-message in it.  I think of Gossamer from Looney Tunes, or King Kong, or something other than the Wolf Man.  I think it's because the Wolf Man doesn't have a monopoly on fur.  On the "U," the right angles, stitches and electrodes say "Frankenstein."  The cape says "Dracula."  But the fur could be a number of different things.  King Kong, Bigfoot, Fozzie Bear, Gossamer, Chewbacca, and so on.  The bandages, on the other hand, are the calling card of one character – The Mummy.  Yes, the Invisible Man has bandages, but they are not falling off like that.  The fur might say "monster," but the bandages say "Mummy."

What's going on in here? Potatoes and t-shirts? Huh?

Oh, cool! Now I see. Nice idea! I like the concept a great deal! Mike C's design is certainly worth exploring. The caped letter A and flattop letter U are sweet. And I don't see anything wrong with the letter M either. It adds that extra "monster touch."

Wait a minute, could the letter M be turned into a bat? I think it definitely lends itself to that. Just a thought.

And the slogan idea on the backside of the shirt is a good one too. Me Wanty!

Salute!

Great artwork Mike. Thanks for providing the sketches.

I like them both, but the Wolf Man M says "monster" to me. Yes, it could be a number of monsters/creatures/things and it fits with our Monster army. I can see how the mummy M is instantly recognizable as well.

Either one I would buy.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

What about.. " I'm a UMA Monsterkid ! " or just  Monsterkid ! as a slogan ?

Or

" Friends good ! " or  "We never drink wine !"  or " The way we walk is thorny ,through no fault of our own "  :)

You could do a couple of different slogans and multiple shirts ! even one in B&W with a glow in the dark UMA logo.
If you get enough pre orders that is.
I would buy one of each :)

Fair enough, though I would suggest that in the context of the other two letter characters it's obvious what it's supposed to be. Of course I am the guy who drew it so "obvious" to me may not be saying much.

But again, I like the Mummy 'M'.

If we can settle on a slogan for the back, I'd love to try a Wolfman treatment for that, and get 'em both in there. I like the 'monsterkid' idea from Tom, so in lieu of anything else right now, I can work with that.

Then again, I'd love to see other ideas and sketches... this entire approach isn't exactly what Elisabeth initially suggested and may be utter crap for all I know. Without more images to bounce off each other, we're missing good input.

Could this part of the thread be turned into its own thread to get more attention from some of the artists on board?

I like the 'Friends Good', Tom! And the color, thank you!

I vote for "Friends...Good"
