I finally found out why Wonderfest is being held in July next year.  The Exectutive West is getting a major face lift.  Read the news here: http://www.wonderfest.com/news.htm

With the actual show being held at the new South Wing of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, will this affect the traveling UMA exhibit?  It is just across the road, but the convienience of walking back up to your room from the events will be missed.

That totally sucks about Wonderfest.  As a dealer, having the room upstairs just makes the whole thing much easier and comfortable.  Offhand, I might think that an off-site location would create new security issues for our priceless plastic and cardboard... :-\

The Wonderfest organizers have been very good to us.  I'm confident they will work with us as needed.

I would agree that Dave is very thorough and easy to work with.  Plus, he has a beautiful singing voice. ;)

Sooooo, it just sunk in that Wonderfest is July 19 - 20 which, besides being my birthday (19th), a day that would be cool to spend among Monster friends, is the weekend before San Diego Comic Con, which I've spent with my comic industry fiends for the last 17 years or so and is pretty much my industry.  Meaning I don't think there's any way for me to do both and Comic Con isn't really a choice.

Is Wonderfest gonna be the UMA meet up show for 2008, or is it the Monster Bash or... ?

Great news for fans of 1968! Wonderfest 2008 has announced that Linda Harrison, "Nova" from PLANET OF THE APES, and both Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea from 2001:A SPACE ODYSSEY are guests for the show. More guests to be announced...

We're still working on answering that question.  It might be a few months before we know for sure.

I have never been to Wonderfest, but I look forward to going this year.

I know... I know...  "There goes the neighborhood."

Hey, if you guys need to raise funds for the UMA exhibit this year, don't hesitate to use the CHFB.  Lemme know if we can be any help!

Thanks for the offer, Gary.  Great to see you here!  I wish we could raise about $50,000 to build a new wing on this expo center just to house our display.  I don't like the idea of having it in the same room as other displays and activities.  Maybe it would be worth my time to drive down to Louisville and scout this location in person.

Monster comic legend Bernie Wrightson has been added to the Wonderfest 2008 lineup. If you haven't met Bernie before, you're in for a treat. A super nice guy.

I've noticed that Ron Adams still has discounted VIP memberships, guess things are not going as scary as it should for him. Not alot of people are going to show up for the whole thing. I wonder!
