The Rolling Stones. - "Rocks Off" and "Rip This Joint"

These two songs kick off "Exile on Main St." with a bang. The drumming on "Rocks Off" make it sound like Charlie's pissed at his wife, or something. Originally, I thought it was about sex. I now see Geezer's point about the heroin connection. Both are fast & furious, and about as hard as the Stones have ever rocked.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Mord

Arctic Monkeys  - When the Sun Goes Down (Scummy Man)

Great song calling out pedophiles and opportunistic pimps that prey on young women. Perfect for the times we live in.

I have an affinity with that song, having spent many nights out in northern England and having met many scummy men during them!

Been listening to assorted 'James' songs on my Alexa thingamajig.

I've been using my Alexa (thing, not a woman) to access everything I used to own on record. I loved that first Arctic Monkeys album. It was the last Buzzcocks-style pop-punk record I liked. Catchy, but hard (and well-written).

And I only get my rocks off
While I'm dreaming
I only get my rocks off
While I'm sleeping

Yep. "The sunlight bores the daylights out of me" Sounds like heroin to me. Coincidentally, I'm listening to "Exile" as I write. Fantastic album.

 Bauhaus. - Bela Lugosi's Dead

Great song for the UMA and Halloween.

Wicked Lester

I'm sure there are not going to be a lot of lovers of this band but have always really liked them for over 40 years. Lucifers Friend - Marys Breakdown.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8NBD-vstSk

Mord

Patti Smith. -  Rock and Roll N*****

Alexa edited out the profanity laden intro to the song (double f*** you, Alexa), making the case for collecting vinyl and cds. I have Amazon. Does anyone else have this problem with their streaming service?

 Leonard Cohen - The Future
Waiting for the Miracle to Come
                               Murder

This excellent trio of Leonard Cohen  songs is used to great effect in the soundtrack of "Natural Born Killers". Creepy and atmospheric.
