Being mostly a Marvel fan, DC had my interest in a few titles, notably Batman, Catwoman and House of Mystery, especially with the 24 issue story of I...Vampire with Andrew Bennett and Mary, Queen of Blood.

Any fans of this series? What issues/stories stood out? UMA's thoughts?

Mine were: Jack the Ripper, Woodstock, "The Corpse That Came in with the Tide", Bennetts origin issue, the one when he has turned another woman and at the end she can't bear being a vampire for eternity, welcomes the dawn (a great ending) and the "Final Chapter": Bennett's and Marys' demise, along with Debroah Dancer becoming a new kind of vampire. (a Blade type daywalker)

I only have the last couple of issues that they did, and I loved it.  I would like to get more or a trade paperback so I could at least read the series.
Long live the UMA!

I wish they did have a TPB, it would look great in my library. DC...PLEASE PUT ONE OUT!

I am missing 4 issues to complete my set. I had to replace most of them due to a 10 year old reading them 100 times, creased and all back when they came out. I'll either be hunting for them at the Baltimore Comic Con this year or score them on eBay for the right price.

Good to hear from another fan of this cool vampire series.

Hey Wicked Lester:

I...Vampire starts on #290, it runs for 24 issues (not sequential) and ends on # 319.

I have several of the I...Vampire stories, but prefer the earlier House Of Mystery issues.  With the exception of Vampirella and Rook, I'm more into anthology than serial horror comics.

Big fan of both Vampirella (especially the EBAS covers) and the HOM series.

I...Vampire was one of the first series that made me come back month after month. I would ride my bike to the 7-11 looking for the newest issue. I was transfixed on the whole storyline: Bennet, Mary, The Blood Red Moon ect.

I also enjoyed The Witching Hour and Ghosts.

#310 is the issue with the lady vamp facing the dawn after Andrew turns her. One of the ones I listed as a favorite of mine.

A great stand alone I...Vampire story.

I also enjoyed The Witching Hour, Ghosts and House of Secrets, fear BaronLatos, these all were constant staples of youth for me.  The I...Vampire stories were indeed well written and enjoyable.  Warren horror was my first love, but DC horror was MUST HAVE IT entertainment for me as well.
