Not that I recall. Plenty of wallets.

Quote from: darkmonkeygod on July 17, 2025, 02:15:32 PMI wonder what size the original paintings for the plaques are, and do they still exist

Hard to say and hard to say. I never thought I'd see the wallet art!  :)

I'm taking bets on how long it will be before the first eBay products, using these images, show up. Any takers?  ;D

You're already too late. A seller started selling pints the week the auctions launched.

A while back I discussed owning these art pieces.  I knew well ahead of time that they were going to be auctioned off.  Of all the pieces I ever owned, and let slip through my hands,  these six pieces of art were the toughest to let go.  I owned them for quite a few years, when I had them they were all framed, quite the sight to behold.  They weren't very big, I never actually measured them, I'd say maybe close to 12 inches give or take an inch or so either way in length and width.  They were framed with the overlay visable over them.  It's been 25 years since owning them, that owner kept them that long.  If I would have had the extra bucks to spend, I would have been a contender in the auction.  I wish they would have been kept as a whole set, but I'm sure they all went to good homes.

Well, so somebody here did own them! Did you say something about it at the time? I don't remember, but that's nothing new. ;D  Pretty cool that you owned such a rare collection of iconic monster art!

Monsters For Sale

Quote from: darkmonkeygod on July 17, 2025, 02:15:32 PMThe original production artwork used for the SPP Monster wallets sold at Heritage Auctions on 2025 July 17 for a combined total of USD $34,812.50. ...

Of course, Creature sold for almost twice what any of the others did.  I am constantly surprised that there is not much more product being made featuring him.

Hey, I got enough expense already, what with the $300 action figures and all!

When I had the art, the Creature piece wasn't my favorite, in looks only.  The artist (who ever it was) made the creature's head a bit elongated causing a slight "egg-head" look, and oddly enough the piece that brought the least amount was, I thought, one of the better looking in the set, the Phantom, colorful and spot on in my opinion.

Exactly what I was thinking! How did The Phantom sell for the least amount? It is my favorite, just for the art. Creature is my sentimental favorite.

It was first, and these lots were very early in the auction, which itself was early in the day. In a run of items like this, it's not unusual to see the first go lower than the rest.

Well, if Creature was the 2nd, it didn't seem to be affected by that curse.  :)
