I was very saddened to learn of David Crosby's passing late this afternoon. Crosby represented the 60's and early 70's to me. A couple of decades most of us monster kids are very attached to via Universal Monsters on tv, Famous Monsters, etc. Rock music was part of that time period.
Being a huge CSN and CSN&Y fan, I saw them perform many times over the years. My favorite memory of Crosby comes from a performance at a fair in Yakima, Washington . While David was singing "Almost Cut My Hair", a police car with its siren blaring roared by the fairgrounds.  He stopped and laughed at the coincidence. What were the odds !
Thanks for many great memories, David.

His father Floyd Crosby was a cinematographer ("High Noon") and shot many AIP movies, including the Poe cycle films.

So many good songs. "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" is probably my favorite by them.

Big fan here too. I love that first Crosby/Nash album especially. I only saw CSN once in 1984, but they were great live. RIP to another of my favorite musicians.

Truthfully I think the band that David Crosby left, the Byrds, recorded tracks better than anything by Crosby, Stills & Nash:

Turn! Turn! Turn! - Byrds

Comedian Artie Lange once told a story about a friend he had who would leave an audio clip loop of the end of Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. He was annoyed by his neighbors so he left it running for 2 weeks straight while he went on vacation. It was just loud enough to hear but not loud enough for the police or landlord to do anything about.
