Just finished this novel for the first time today, Halloween Day!  At first, while reading the novel, I began to compare it to the 1931 movie, but soon realized they are vastly different.  After putting aside the movies, I began to enjoy the book a lot more and found it very easy to read.  Some portions were drawn out and boring, but overall I enjoyed the story.  I thought there would be more of Dracula himself, but aside from the first quarter of the book, he seems to barely be in there, just pops in and out.  This has been a bucket list read for me so I'm glad I finally read it.

The thing about the '31 film is, unlike the book or the play, Dracula gets most of the scenes.  The film rewrote everything.  He is barely in the book and hardly ever in the play.

The book is a good read. I prefer the film
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

I was really surprised at how little Dracula was actually in the book.  I think I prefer the 1931 film.
