Just what we need,  Slipknot  fans  being associated and exposed to FM.☹
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

I was set to order a copy, but it's $25, $31.90 with shipping in the USA. For a magazine?? I'd still like a copy, but I need to evaluate this.

At $25 a copy plus shipping, the publishers should have given us a page count and a preview of a couple of pages.  Sorry, I just can't see forking over money like that for something I know nothing about.  I'll check it out if it hits the bookstore, but still might not purchase it.  I also don't like the fact that they took the "of Filmland" off the title.  This makes me think the articles will be all over the place.

I see this as a good thing. Any continuation of these brands is going to upset some fans but they seem to be honoring the past by posting the past issues online for free and the store seems to be offering some great items. I can't wait to see what they do with it. The fact that they purchased the life rights of 4E fills me with hope. It makes me think that they will honor him.

I have my doubts.  Yep, $25 per issue is WAY too much.  Ray Ferry, after losing the Famous Monsters brand, came out with Freajy Monsters, essentially Famous Monsters with a different name, and that too is about $25 an issue, and NOT worth that at cost.

Famous Monsters 3.o didn't click, and based on the cover of 4.0, it looks like they might be following that version.

To me, Monsters From The Vault felt like what Fanous Monsters could have morphed into if FM 1 0 had continued.  But even Monsters From The Vault had trouble continuing into the 21st Century.  STILL waiting for their final issue that was announced but sadly never came out.

So Famous Monsters 4.0...I have my doubts it will last...or be very good.

Did not Scary Monsters fill the bill adequately in your opinion?

???

Collecting! It's what I do!

I loved Scary Monsters.  I even wrote several "Monster Memories" articles for it in the early years of the mag.  But Scary Monsters didn't feel life Famous Monsters.  More like Mad Monsters and Horror Monsters than FM.

After approximately 4.5 months, it finally came in the mail.

Pros: It has a lot of heart. The cover choice is a bit odd for a 1st issue, but overall, the magazine captures the feel of the Warren years very well.

Cons: I'm very put off by the price ($25 plus shipping--that may reflect a low print run, I don't know) for only 66 pages and VERY poor paper quality. The photo reproductions are poor, & the cover was also crinkled. It's a very fragile product. I'm glad I gave it a chance, but a definite NO to future issues. One person's opinion, anyway.

I'm skipping this new run. Looks WAY overpriced for what you got.

Luckily for me, I gave up buying monster mags. It just got too expensive. $25 for the mag described here, is ridicules!
