"Andromeda Strain" was one of those Saturday afternoon tv  movies I watched as a kid and it made such an impression on me.  In fact, it is one of the first two movies I ever purchased on dvd. Just watched it several months ago and still....the scene where Olson's character had to run to a station to use the key to turn off the self-destruct still got my stomach in knots in anticipation.
