Unless Edgar Allan Poe starts haunting me for usurping that title, here's my tribute to
Post Studios' 2nd series MUMMY.

It's been around since the 1960s, having improved on the "Calendar" version only as
larger and more wearable >

I scored my first set before it went out of production in the mid 1970s >

The original mold mouldered in storage until 1989 when limited production began anew.
Castings were flocked which imparted a moldy effect >

Ten years later, The MUMMY entered its final period of licensed DPS production as
one of the Universal reissues >

I scored a copy with display box as well as one of the two 1998 prototypes.
Mine was the rejected alternate >

The master plaster itself went up for auction a year or so after DPS shut down. I didn't bid on it,
not having had room to store such a thing, and watched sadly as the auction closed for less than
it should have.

The character remains a staple in mask collections across the country. I've seen castings finished
in blue and purple, with dripping blood, and even a set that glows in the dark!

If you can top that, or you're just a traditionalist like me, post pics of your version "B" MUMMY masks.

My favorite Mummy mask of al time!  Until I one day get one I must make do with the Paper Magic second runner up in my opinion.
