Just received word that one of our own has passed on. Glenn Burtis, who posted here under the name of Gory Glenn, has passed away. Not only was he a great Monster Kid who loved the UMA, but I had the privilege of calling him one of my best friends.

RIP brother, and I'll see you on the other side. In the meantime,  give my regards to Lon, Boris, and Bela.

That's terrible. How old was Glenn? I enjoyed his posts about masks. :'(

So sorry to hear of one of our own passing.  My condolences to his family and all of his friends.

Oh no! This is a real shock! I see it was a couple of months since he posted, but I had no idea.

R.I.P., Glenn. You will be missed by all.

He'd been chugging along on only one lung for years until his cancer recurred and eventually took out the other.
I always looked forward to his posts at The HMA+UMA  and his childlike glee when announcing the latest latex
loot he'd landed. I'll miss hosting him here at home as well as skulking around the local monster conventions
together. A fond goodbye to thee, Gory Glenn. We can ill afford to lose a good monsterkid like you but I hope
we'll meet up again at the heavenly con.

Doh!

This is just horrible news. I first met Glenn at Don Con and we became fast friends. We even talked about getting together again once COVID was under control. I wasn't aware that his cancer returned

Rest In Peace, brother.

This is a shock to me, never knew Glenn had been a cancer survivor and then had it come back. Being members here and over at the HMA we both were fans of the Glenn Strange Frank masks and were thrilled to hear that TOTS was getting the rights to make it finally after being turned down a few years ago. His posts on both sites were both funny and full of info. I'm going to really miss this guy and this site now has a big hole in it that can't be filled.

Wow, this really hits home. Glenn and I went to a couple of Monsterpaloozas together. We later went for drinks and dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Great guy and devoted monsterkid... not to mention heavy metal drummer extraordinaire. Rest in peace, brother.

Very sad news. He was one of the first UMA members I hit it off with when I joined the forum. We shared a love of rock n roll in general and punk and metal in particular. Seemed like a great dude. My condolences to his loved ones.
