True!

Maybe we will get another Dracula figure with the silver cape and sans medallion?

If they are calling this the Transylvania figure, I'm assuming we will have a London figure (really use that Lugosi license to its fullest!).  We can have a Bride Karloff and a London Lugosi.  Might just become the standard going forward!

But you know what we really want...  Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein: Dracula, Wolf Man, and Monster.  Like, we need those, and they already have the bodies (with some minor tweaking), so it should be pretty cost effective to do.  I don't know if Universal will license these character (and I have no idea why they haven't considering that was literally all they licensed for decades), but it seems like a win-win for NECA and the collectors.

And, yes, I'd love a Renfield, Van Helsing, and Henry Frankenstein at minimum.

Trevor Grove posted his Bela sculpts for the new figure. At first I thought for the open mouth face it might be a bad paint job but...is it just me or does it kinda looks completely different head sculpt?

What do you guys think of the cape? Looks like a sculpted collar with cloth cape.
But wasn't the inside of the cape supposed to be a lighter color?

I wish the material was a little bit heavier, like the cape for the Mego figure, but it's not a big deal. I don't know if the cape for the actual move was that way, but his cape also always has a red lining in my head.

It probably doesn't mean much regarding if they'll do a Van Helsing for this line, but they are doing a Van Helsing/Splinter figure for their Universal Monsters x TMNT figures.

They could make adjustments to the cape colors in the final product.   They made changes to the Wolf Man head getting rid of the moustache

I still feel the same way about his Karloff monster sculpt; either something got tweaked or the paint apps just don't do the sculpts justice.

Are his sculpts larger than the final product? Could be that something doesn't translate when its shrunken down so much, maybe the squinting eyes are too small to paint and need to be tweaked?

It's the visible teeth that throws it off. I think he was going for the look where he is closing in to bite Lucy. If memory serves, his lips are curled in over his teeth. Probably hard to pull of as a sculpt.

Dr.Terror

I think its a fantasy head like the open mouth mummy.   Possibly inspired by the "bite" face.

Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

And he has Van Sloan glasses, which gives me hope!

Doh!

I'm only collecting the B&W versions of these, so maybe they'll give us a gray-lined cape there.

So strange how the head sculpts look great, yet the painted versions look a bit off.

I remember back in the day when Sideshow came out with their Universal Monsters action figures, and I got them all at the local Toys R Us, and when Bela as Dracula was announced, I was all in for it.  When I saw it...something just wasn't right.  It was Bela, but something was off - couldn't put my finger on it - was the head to round?  The smile wrong?  Still not sure.

So perhaps it's just the lighting in the photos that makes it look a bit off.  The straight face looks the best to me.  The smile - off.  The grimace - weird.

The shape of the mouth and eyes...I think these are definitely two different heads...

The top photo looks more like Bela's likeness.
