Sony's standalone Spider-Man bad guys series continues (Venom was the initial launch) with Morbius.  "Dr. Michael Morbius imbued with pseudo-vampiric superhuman abilities and physical traits stemming from a failed biochemical experiment which was intended to cure his rare blood disorder.".  This is reportedly a first look at Jared Leto as Morbius.

Can't wait for this! Hope they connect this to Blade and broader Marvel horror universe (even if they're not Sony movies)

I think Spidey will be the only crossover character (for now), rumor is he'll pop up in the second Venom.  I think that will be Sony's angle with these; introduce the villain in standalone flick then Spidey in sequels.

Really wasn't impressed by the trailer.  Seems like another origin story where the main protagonist fights a nobody and we have to wait for the sequel to see a good villain or hero.  Kind of like the Venom movie.

Good point, but I'm still excited. Non-comic book reading audiences probably aren't aware of Morbius. Shoot, I bet some comic book readers don't know him. My overall pt is I'm not sure how you could introduce him into a cinematic universe without an origins story.

Either way I hope it does well because I wanna see more Marvel horror characters in live action----bring me Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy, Man-Thing, Son of Satan, Satana, Simon Garth Zombie . . . .

Looks good, despite my irrational dislike for Jarod Leto.

Marvel Studios retains rights to all those characters; Moon Knight is receiving a Marvel streaming show on Disney+ which, according to rumors, will lead into more of the supernatural side of Marvel; Moon Knight's first comic appearance was in Werewolf by Night.

I hope it does well also...heck, I hope any comic book movie does well.  Tomb of Dracula would make a great movie...except I can't picture anyone else than Wesley Snipes as Blade.  I'm sure another actor would be good in the role, but Snipes is my definitive Blade.

Mahershala Ali has already been cast as Blade in the MCU.  I don't think there is a firm release date yet; sometime past 2022 maybe?

Yea, Ali doesn't look bad, Just not Snipes.  It would be like someone else being cast as Tony Stark...just...not right.

I was sort of tepid to the news that Sony was making Spider-Man villain movies without Spider-man. Having seen and enjoyed Venom, I'm now more optimistic. My favorite Morbius memory doesn't involve the character at all; at the time Spidey 101 came out I'd just started subscribing to ASM through Marvel. I was really annoyed that my first issue, 101, was mailed folded in half! I still have the comic and I still get annoyed every time I look at it now! Lol

You should find someone that knows how to press books.  I've had very good results getting out the subscription crease with a few pressings.  Most comic shops press books for a few bucks.
