Sad, but I sort of assumed that he passed away years ago. I have a couple of his books and always loved his stuff. My favorite was always his Christmas one:

Very sad! Gahan Wilson was a master at combining humour with the macabre.

Gahan Wilson will be missed by all, but most importantly by all us Monster Kids. His style and unique view point made him unlike any other cartoonist. I'm sure his work inspired many artists that went on to great fame. We should continue to enjoy his work through his books and reprints. He was truly weirdly unique.
