It was, which was nuts!  I wonder if they sold even one?

Like with a lot of things like this they just seem to go up in value - https://www.ebay.com/itm/SDCC-2015-Reaction-Super7-Haunted-House-Playset-Funko-Figure-Universal-Monsters/351833048086?hash=item51eae24416:g:4GUAAOSwLVZVpEq9

I must admit that I quite like this set......well saying that I really like the box but did think that they could have done better with the artwork  on the play set (like making it look more like the box artwork). I bought one when it was released which my boys have had a lot of fun with when I get it out at Halloween and fill it with my Horror figures and I bought one when it was on sale for around $35. I've kept that one sealed and looking at what people are trying to get for them now a days it might end up becoming a small investment.

Based on the cursed cardboard, that's the reason I'd rather get accessories of plastic like a coffin or lab table than something that *should* be neat like Drac's tomb or a Frankenstein laboratory.

Sometime I think the wrong people get to make toys. Where are all the great ideas? 👀

Astounding someone paid over $200 for that Haunted House playset on ebay. I remember them sitting in stock with BBTS for a long, long time before finally selling. I had thought about getting it, but nothing appealed to me at all, between the cardboard or the artwork.

Palifan bought two.

The first one I paid over the odds for and the seller really annoyed me and then shortly after some turned up at the reduced price so I bought another to make me feel better about buying the first one. Sometimes even I can't figure out my logic but as mentioned my sons have had a lot of fun with one of them and if they do end up keeping their higher value it might all work out in the end.

Not Universal but in related news, a Super7 employee friend said that Caesare isn't planned, just Caligari. :/

Guess I'll just have to make my own, but with Blackjack and Hookers

I don't know why S7 doesn't take on the Kenner model for playsets like they do with their figures.  Plastic is not that expensive.

That's kind of exactly what they were doing!

I wonder if playlets are a dog for a small company like S7?   I know I couldn't care less about one, if I had small kids I doubt I'd drop $75 for some cardboard display.   I think their major focus is on adult collectors rather than kids who would use the playsets and it seems like they'd have to tie up a lot of capital in inventory for something that might not move.

At SDCC or NYCC (I don't remember which) they had a ton of the Planet of the Apes Statue of Liberty sets, and while I did see several people walking around with them, they didn't sell out.

I wasn't so much concerned about full-fledged playsets as I was thinking about a few choice set pieces like sarcophaguses, etc.,  and flat backdrops like castle doors and walls - something to give a little atmospheric background for displaying collectible figures on shelves.  My days of getting down on the floor and playing with these things is long over - just ask my knees.

And even those would probably be of little interest to people who keep their figures on the card.

I'm not that old.

I still like to pick them up and handle them, turn them over, etc.  I ain't dead, yet.
