Yeah it does put a sour taste that they raised prices across the board even on product they're sitting on.   Nobody is forcing us to buy of course.   All it did for me was I only bought one set of glow figures instead of two-- in the long run saving me money.

So, when is Super7 going to honor their pre-orders to places like BBTS where many of us locked in our purchases at $14.99 for things like Robocop that they've been sitting on for about 2 months now?

Sorry, but for as much as they want to blame the tariffs, there are too many factors here that just stink. ...

.... Super7 have become slimier than Funko at this point. $18 is just insane, especially with their overly tired variants and SCARCE BUY IT NOW mentality. I wish the UM license would go to someone else, someone with more respect for their fan base.

The price doesn't bother me as much as their business model/practices.  Releasing toys one or two at a time, one or two weeks apart (without any definite release dates - if any at all) only forces collectors to buy toys one or two at a time and pay separate shipping charges, or take the chance of them being sold out of limited items when they get a whole order together.

They make a big deal about producing the toys because they love them.  Their company stresses that they make the toys they wished they could have bought as kids and collectors. That's fine. Too bad they can't also remember how they wished toy companies would have treated them as customers.

I wish someone without all the affection for "blind" offerings, very limited con "exclusives" and endless variations on the same sculpt would get the license away from them.

Precisely! I grew up on Kenner Star Wars, which is precisely what Super7 is mimicking with their ReAction line. Kenner's entire success was their "Collect Them All!" mentality with a focus on keeping the figures affordable, plentiful, and easily obtainable. Super7 focuses on scarcity and a "get it before it's gone" mentality. Remco followed what Kenner was doing back in the day, which was my gateway into Monster toys.

They've already put out 2 different sets of variants for UM wave 2 before we've even gotten the proper main line. Their other lines always get the mains with later releases of variants.

Super7 heavily promoted their SDCC Creature Towel as ultra-limited and made all of you compete with scalpers to get yours before they did their second run later. People here sure didn't seem happy with their tactics during SDCC.

I agree with those who love their stuff. IF I didn't like their products, I wouldn't care to waste my time complaining about their tactics. But, like a lot of people, I have more interest in things than JUST UM. POTA? Gimme! The Worst? Pick and choose but there's some good stuff there. I am a huge fan of the 5POA 3 3/4" retro style. And as a long time collector of "stuff", these figures don't take up as much space.

But the continued, constant manipulation tactics by Super7 is wearing me thin. It's like a bad relationship, there's a lot of love there but sometimes the behavior just isn't where it needs to be. And STILL we have no answer why the old stock had to ALL jump up in price. Don't you all want to know why wave 1 is suddenly more expensive? That's 1 year old warehouse stock.

Just because we love our monsters, lets see how many folks here feel about S7 next year when their 2020 version of whatever compares to the Creature Towel has the board in an uproar. Love the products, hate the tactics.

The problem with this statement is timing. It makes perfect sense to release this line in October, during Halloween, but the Con schedule does not cooperate and the Cons happen before the main release. The variants are as have always been intended Con exclusives meant to promote the main line. This concept was never intended for the general consumer/collector, it just got out of control.

Well to be fair, they were saying from the shop at SDCC that they would be getting more Creature Towels in later in the year-- so anyone who went the scalper route only has themselves to blame.   Super7 is pretty good at being straight with questions.   I don't like everything they do, but I don't have to buy anything either.

That's the best definition of marriage I've ever read.

This second wave has some of the big characters and I do love the card art for them but I have to say that I'm not totally into the figure sculpts on these ones. The likeness is very far off when you look at the faces up to the card art and even though these are in a retro style they look further away from the actual likeness then some of Super7's previous releases.

I'm sure that I will pick some of these up as I need some of the big hitters to go with my wave one collection but on the whole I'm a little disappointed in the sculpts in both waves really even though there's something about wave two that seems even further to hitting the mark for me.

Beautiful cards, really crappy figures. I hate what they did to the Creature with the b.j. mouth.

TheMadScientist

I do find it frustrating that these figures weren't released until today, barely a week before Halloween. It would have been nice to get them in time to enjoy before Halloween, and I'm guessing mine won't be delivered until after. I get that Super7 is a small operation, but that feels like poor planning or something (I'll be honest in that I'm still a bit miffed at them for all the issues I had getting my Frankenstein Superbucket last year). As for the comic con exclusives, it would be nice if there was a bit more transparency on social media regarding which items will be back in stock versus which items won't. I know they said the Garbage Pail Kids would be, but I haven't heard anything about those in awhile. I like their products, but I do wish there was a bit more communication regarding what items will become available and when.

Yes, it's sad but true. The figures aren't that great. The art for the cards is stellar though.  The 1980 Remco mini monsters are better.  I am supporting this line however, because their Moleman and Metaluna Mutant were actually neat figures for this scale, and I would love to see them do Werewolf of London.

Yeah, Wave 3 is what I am extremely excited about. None of the figures will have been made in this scale. I have loved the 3.75" scale since I was old enough to hold one and I had dreamed of someone making the Bride and Invisible Man as a kid. I never imagined someone would one day make a Mutant, Mole Person and Red Death. Pretty pumped about a Wave 3 and I really hope it happens (probably depends on how this Wave sells). Hopefully they have sculpts at Toy Fair.
