You're so right Mord. Trying to clean out my system - as I start some new medication in a day or so.

This evening I watched:

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello meet Frankenstein 1948

There's a lot of protein in that one.

DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

ALWAYS MONSTERING...

Great choice Horror hunter. The Black Cat is such a great film. Sometimes, it is hard to believe that the film is only 65 minutes long. There is jus a lot going on in it.

Today I viewed another Horror Comedy:

Munster Go Home 1965

Yeah, it is a great flick. There's a lot of twisted psychological shenanigans going on as well as some straight terror. I think it's the darkest of the Universal horror films and one of the very best.

I think "The Black Cat" is the darkest AND the best. Try summarizing the plot to anyone that hasn't seen it & watch their reaction when you tell them the film is 80 years old.

That just might be the reason I love it so much. I too think it is the darkest of all the Universal horror films. I can just imagine audience reaction in 1934. I'll try to dig up some reviews.

Both Dracula(1931) and Frankenstein(1931)..last night.

Watched "The Mummy's Tomb" last night. It's about 1/4 flashback footage from "The Mummy's Hand" but still fun.

It is a pretty decent sequel. The only fault I have with it is that  -- Babe Jensen becomes Babe Hanson.

Last night:

The Wolf Man 1941 followed by its modern day remake.

All this "Black Cat" talk kinda got me in the mood to watch it again. This film ALWAYS amazes me. Even current films rarely deal in areas this dark. It officially replaces "The Bride of Frankenstein" as my favorite Universal horror classic (at least until I watch "BoF" again).

Black Cat oozes the evil. It's in my top 5 Universal monster flicks. That top 5 shifts occasionally but Creature From The Black Lagoon is always at #1 and Bride Of Frankenstein is always in there somewhere along with The Black Cat. Creature is my favorite movie, period. I always have trouble with those top 5 and top 10 lists because they tend to change a little periodically.
