"The Black Cat", the 1941 horror/comdey. It's not Universal at tits best, but the great cast makes it a gulity pleasure.
My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.

I've been fighting a flu for the last three days and decided to have a Creature from the Black Lagoon marathon, so today I got out my Legacy collection and watch all three Creature films in order.

I watched Son of Dracula this evening. Good Movie, Lon Chaney Jr makes a good dracula.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

I watch when I can, but the clasics are my GO TO film when I am sick.
Home in bed with a cold or whatever and you'll find one of the Universal classics playing.
I had a tooth extraction go very wrong awhile back and I actually ran though virtually all the classic monster films in a 5 day period while drifting in and out of sleep in a medicated haze.

I don't advocate drug use, but after a week like that I can kind of see the appeal.
The only part that sucked was the pain and not being able to snack. The classics demand popcorn!

- Spanish Version Dracula (1931)

Lupita Tovar, fluid camera work and a longer story makes this one a favorite.

I watched "Son of Dracula" today, maybe for the first time -it's possible I saw it as a kid, but I sure don't remember it. I was skeptical going in, as Lon Chaney Jr seems woefully miscast as the Count. And I still feel that way after seeing it. But it has a solid story and some nice scenes. I really like the smoke effects used here for the vampires' manifestations. The plot, with Kay scheming to gain immortality from Dracula, was pretty clever. I enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised.

I took Franky 1931, The Bride and Son of... on DVD when I went to Queensland for a holiday.

I get really homesick when we go away, getting worse as I get older, so I take these with me as they make me feel at home...  it rained for four days so I watched them all a few times.  It was a great holiday!!

Just watched the origional Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein two nights ago...its always great to see these classics when todays cable tv offers nothing to get excited about ...I own alot of the old universal movies on dvd and when I put them on its great to see that the people watching them with are just as fascinated with them as if they were a new big budget release.
