I think the best way to do things is if a box or clam shell is damaged, the customer can pay for a new one from DD. If I need a replacement box, I think  putting up like $10 or something, is ok. I realize that some might not want to. However, people need to realize DD is not NECA or some other huge company and they do the absolute best they can on the budget they have. Actually, I have said many times, I don't know how DD does it between the figures, custom cards and shipping. When it comes down to it, DD is obviously a company fueled by passion, not profit.

As someone who slings paint on a freelance basis for DD, I can tell you with absolute certainty....it's definitely a labor of love.  The sheer aggravation of keeping materials such as bodies, clamshells, and the like, in stock is one head ache of many.  Producing characters like Wasp Woman, Jourdan and Palance Draculas, The Hitcher, Captain Kronos, and all the other obscure creations no one has ever bothered to touch for decades should prove that.

Martin, I happen to agree that you should not be the one to absorb the cost of damage done by an inept USPS, and you should have a disclaimer for such on your site.  Perhaps you can provide an alternative shipping option at checkout for those customers that continually have problems with their local Post Offices.  I know firsthand that you have always been there for your customers, and that you do this for the love and passion you have for these characters and films; not for the profit.  But as we all understand, DD does need to remain profitable in order for its survival.  I certainly would not want to see DD shut down; DD is the best thing to happen for figure collectors in a very long time.

All good points here about either a section to pay for additional shipping when placing an order or paying for replacement boxes if damaged but I think we all agree that martin shouldn't be out of pocket in any way. One thing I did think of though was for the people who seem to always be having problems with their packages is it possible for them to contact their local post office/sorting office to complain? The fault seems to be coming form there and this doesn't seem to be a one off for these people so if it was me I would take it further with them. I'm sure the person who delivers your items to your doors would be able to point you in the right direction about who best to contact but this clearly seems to be the fault of the US shippers.

I can't think of any other solutions at this time but Martin isn't at any fault here so shouldn't have to lose out.

Showed up today!!  Beautiful.  There are a few scuff marks on the shell, but nowhere near as bad as it looks in this photo.  A lot of glare from the light.  So glad I have this as I am a huge fan of H3.

Go to the bottom of this page and click on the word "NOTIFY".  You must do this for each individual thread.

If the word is "UNNOTIFY", then you are already signed up for updates.

(Sometimes I fail to get updates - so there may be some additional problem.)

To get on the Distinctive Dummies notification list you need to PM Spock with your email address.

I tried that. I will see if I get them next time a release happens.

Super excited to see this morning's offerings by Chefs Martin & Steve!  Breakfast is always a little extra special when Ham is involved, and I cannot wait for the Gorgon-zola dish in the upcoming months.  One item I have been looking forward to from the very beginning!

Ha! You stole my Gorogonzola pun. Now I will have to think of something else for her hint when she is released.

Do the last set of hints make sense now, fellas, lol? I thought they were clever. But I may have inhaled too many paint fumes recently, lol.

I too am anxious for old gorgonzola.

It looks like my efforts to be added to the email chain have failed.

Hammer's Reptile and Phantom...again? These characters were available for years as 1/6th scale figures. I bought them and they're both really nice. With all of the characters that haven't been done yet why repeat ones already done as excellent 1/6th scale figures as Mego-style figures?  ???

I would really like to see Father Sandor from Dracula Prince of Darkness and Baron Hartog from Vampire Lovers.
