Happy New Year fellow Monster Kids!

I'm interested in connecting with anyone who has conducted research on us Monster Kids.  There has been quite a bit published about 'being' a Monster Kid - the kid culture of the 1960s and 70s, etc... but I'm trying to find demographic and ethnographic research, particularly quantifying Monster Kids in the 21st Century? How many of us are there who still define ourselves as Monster Kids and engage in Monster Kid lifetyle activities such as watching genre films, collecting, attending Fan events & Cons -- in other words those of us on this forum!

FANGS for any help you can provide!

Don't know that there's anything I can do  to help, but it's bound to make interesting reading!

Interesting subject. Maybe you can be a bit more specific with the info you want.  All of us on this site obviously have one thing in common, we all like monsters.  Some are a bit more "fanatic" than others. Some of us are "older" monster kids, we who actually grew up with the emergence of monster memorabilia from the late 50's and early 60's.   Then the later generations with the 70's items, then the 80's items, etc.  I believe most of us go to toy shows and conventions when we can.  Watching monster flicks, either new or vintage.  We all have our fond memories. As A new member, what about you??

If you're interested in investing a little time and effort you could conduct the research yourself. Several members of UMA would probably answer your questions if you posted a list of them. Many of us are curious about this stuff too. The actual work involved has to start somewhere.

Every true monster kid knows that research always leads to trouble, you scientists are always looking into things that man was not meant to know. That's a good suggestion about the questionnaire, good luck with your project.  Why only the other day I was in conversation with Larry Talbot and just as we were getting to some sort of agreement, he told me he had to go CHANGE?
