In time for Halloween...

            Creepshow - (Collector's Edition) - BLU-Ray - Scheduled Realese October 23, 2018

Maybe this "Collector's Edition" will have special features like Commentaries.

Creepshow II has already been released in Blu-Ray with Commentary.  But the only Blu-Ray of Creepshow I was released in 2009 with no extras.  Nine years later, the image might be improved, too.

Let's hope.

I so need this Special Edition
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

I continue to question women's fashions.  If women wouldn't wear little bitsy, teeny weenie, white-or-yellow polka dot bikinis - how often could our world avoid being attacked by monsters?!!  I should be ashamed to have been part of that industry... what was I thinking?!!

It was a bigger problem back in the '50s and '60s then it is today.

       Upgrade, 2017 - BLU-Ray - Universal - Scheduled Release: August 28, 2018

After his wife is killed during a brutal mugging that also leaves him paralyzed, Grey Trace is approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that will "upgrade" his body. The cure–an Artificial Intelligence implant called STEM–gives Grey physical abilities beyond anything experienced, and the ability to relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.

From the producers of Get Out and The Purge, and the creator of Saw and Insidious.

(Sounds like a melding of Six Million Dollar Man, Robocop and Death Wish.)

Will come with digital copy.

Memoirs of an Invisible Man, 1992 - BLU-Ray - Shout Factory - Released: July 24, 2018

Napping stock analyst Chevy Chase sleeps through a nuclear industrial accident and finds himself slipping in and out of visibility.  Naturally, he also finds himself being pursued by government agents from here and abroad.

Special Features:

NEW 2K scan of the original film elements
How to Become Invisible: The Dawn of Digital F/X
Vintage interviews with director John Carpenter, actors Chevy Chase and Daryl Hannah
          Behind the Scenes footage
          Outtakes
          Theatrical Trailer
          TV Spots

Chevy Chase's blasé, nothing-ever-phases-me style of humor was badly miscast in this role.  Amazing things are happening to his character, but he hardly ever seems all that impressed.  I kinda wish this role had gone to Steve Martin.

Well worth watching for the impressive early digital effects.

            Supergirl, 1984 - BLU-Ray - Warner Brothers - Released: July 24, 2018

Supergirl. That pretty much says it all.

This 2-disc edition contains:
The original, European theatrical 125-minute cut on Blu-Ray.
The re-edited, (padded), 138-minute TV version on DVD.

The 105-minute U.S. theatrical version is NOT included.  So, if you have only ever seen this in a U.S. theater, you are going to be seeing something a bit different from what you remember.

Not a dynamite movie in any incarnation, but young Helen Slater was pretty cute in her Supergirl costume.

It would have been a very different movie with Steve Martin! (Think "Man With Two Brains".) Definitely wouldn't have been a John Carpenter movie, though. I kinda like it with Chevy. I'll have to give it another look. It's been a while.

An old favorite with a stellar cast. Saw this in the theater when it first came out. The new Blu-ray restoration is fantastic as well as a plethora of extras including a segment by our old monster buddy Dan Roebuck. Good stuff!
