Jan 14, 2016, and British actor Alan Rickman's moved along to the next step after losing a battle with cancer.

He's as close to this generation's Basil Rathbone as I can imagine - soooo capable of bad guy villainy, soooo great in good guy roles.  Comedic with a raised eyebrow or cynical mock, the wonderfully returned ghost in TRULY MADLY DEEPLY. following two of the best villains in DIE HARD and QUIQLEY DOWN UNDER.

I'm always regretful that the filmmakers believed it necessary to bring in the philharmonic instead of just letting the piano duet carry on.
