Oh, yeah; I got a lot more crap than I did treasure, that's for sure.  Luckily, there was usually a jiggler machine at the corner Tom-Boy store, and I got a few of those a week for a long time.  You got your occasional "butterfly", but they were usually snakes, demons, spiders, rats, etc.

;D  Thanks for these posts, there are some small heads from my youth that I've been looking for off and on but  never could find on ebay. They were gumball like toys: one with a single eye that opens like a cyclops, another looked like it wore mummy wrapping with two eyes that protruded like stalks and went bach in , the last had both type eyes (three eyes).  I used the word "charms" in the search this time, and now I've reclaimed a part of childhood.  All thanks to my monster pals at the UMA.   ;D  ;D

I have an unusual item that qualifies as a "charm."  It is something that has been pictured here before, but not complete with its chain.  I will photograph it soon.  I think you will find it interesting.

I love dime store junk.  In fact, that is what I collect.  Junk.  That is what I call AHIs, Lincolns, Tomlands, Imagineering, Topstone, MPC figures, rubber jigglers of all kinds, and so on.  It is all a load of junk.  It is the low-end, knock-off rubbish you found at Ben Franklin, Woolworths, dime stores, gift shops, the toy aisle of a grocery store, quick shop (there's a term nobody uses anymore), or the "junk aisle" of a bigger store like Kmart or Target.  That is what excited me as a child.  I also liked the Megos, Star Wars and slick toys as much as the next kid, but I really loved the junk.  So that's what I collect now.  Junk.

Yes, that's it!  No, mine is not carded.  Have you posted photos of those before?  Show us pictures of these carded monster bendie necklaces.

I love monster charms, they're pretty hard to find over here in the UK, but I've picked up a few from ebay and traded with Andy for some (Thanks Andy!). I don't know why they seem so magical, I'm guessing it's because we all spent our pennies  pumping them into gumball machines, hoping for monsters.

We didn't have much money growing up, so a few of us used to hide out across the way from a take away Chinese food place who had a gumball machine outside. We would wait for the drunks to leave who often dropped their change, then we would swoop in, gather the pennies up, and then it was Gumball Christmas! I remember one range here in the UK that was very cool; they were monster ring water squirters.

Here are some other charms:

I have a bunch of these super balls, marked Japan, with different monsters.  This is two sides of the same ball.

Most of these are MPC Pop Top Heads

WoW!~ These are sweeet! I want some! (jumping up and down throwing a tantrum - not really). I have never seen these before. Of course though I am a product of the 70s. I especially love the ones with the dollars inside. These all make me feel like I am 7 again. Very cool kids! Keep posting the pics. Your collections amaze me!

Bobby and Andy, thanks for posting your pics, those little things are really neat. Andy, I love the case your using.  I see those cases all the time at craft stores and wish I could find something to use it for, its great to see it filled monster stuff. But Bobby, my god, you have got some really neat stuff, and a ton of it. I love the eye charm and the little green and blue guys.  I just don't have the patience for a collection of small stuff, about as small as I can go is Star Wars figures.  I guess probably part of the reason I collecr mostly masks, I like having a big box come in the mail with something big in there (that I can wear).

Toy Ranch

I love little small stuff.  Playset figures and smaller.  Little toys like those make me happy.   ;)

Thanks so much for sharing pics of your collections. I never knew there were so many SMALL monsters on there to collect!! So cool.

Me, too.  I have always liked the small toys for some reason.

Awesome stuff!  The 1960s were a great time for gumball goodies.  Every charm was a treasure because they were so detailed back then.

Here are some close-up photos of that strange little Frankenstein bendy pendant.

I'd still like to see pictures of the Dracula and Wolf Man, especially on cards.
