Looks on the dumb side.

But I am a sucker for "Last Man" or "Last Day" movies.  I try to see them all.

I will have to watch the first 2 or 3 episodes to see what direction this goes.  I don't have any great expectations, so I won't be too disappointed if it is crap.

I just don't see how they are going to stretch even a comedical take on this out for a whole series?!

I'm thinking this is a limited series with a finale episode already written for season 2 or 3 - and with the lousy 10-episode seasons that series have nowadays, it seems barely do-able.

I just can't figure out how it crept up on this group.  The darn thing premiers in a month and there hasn't been any discussion here yet.  I was shocked when I did a search, that there wasn't already a thread started by another member.

My fear is that Fox thinks this is so bad that it would not stand up to too much advance word.  It happens with movies that the studio has no great faith in.  The show is sprung unheralded upon an unsuspecting public in hopes that enough people will see initial showings to build a word of mouth - or at least make back as much of production costs as possible before the stink spreads too far-wide.

I will give it at least a chance, because I am a lover of the general premise.  Like I said, I try to see them all.

Will Forte is hilarious but can one actor do it by himself? I guess they could do constant flashbacks or introduce some funny ghouls/vampires who could constantly knock on his motorhome's door and in a whiny pleading voice:"Come out to play Morgan"

This could be major (if done right)!
Oops, I hadn't watched the trailer. I'd rather see this done without the humor.

Hey, you never know it may not be funny at all!   :)

Very funny. You may be right.

Wicked Lester

I predict this will crash and burn fairly quick. Pass.

Here is a recent article and video on this show.

(I have been avoiding reading articles and watching trailers.  I prefer to watch movies and TV cold - at least for the first viewing.)

He needs some kind of comic sidekick.  How about he finds a basketball, and names it Wilson?

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL.

Humanity has evidently ended with a world-wide virus.  Curiously, no animals appear to have survived, either.

The Last Man On Earth is a man who has absolutely no redeeming personal worth.  He spends the first third of the first 30-minute episode childishly destroying everything he can find.  The mind-numbing repetition of these acts seems to go on forever.

Everything is wildly over-stated.  In just two years, he manages to build up an amount of trash that would take a family of four a decade to accumulate.

He is so unsympathetic that I wanted to kill him myself.

But worst of all. I've never seen a show crap on it's own basic premise as quickly as this one did.  The Last Man On Earth finds another human in the first 20 minutes of the first episode.  He finds a woman camping alone in the desert.

Then the show turned into a "comedy" about  two unsympathetic people who can't get along.  Neither character is engaging or someone I could stand to be around.  He finds the woman so irritating that he takes her back out to the place he found her and leaves her there.

End of episode one.
______________________________________

Episode two opens with the woman coming back where he lives and moving into the house next door.  The "hilarity" of the mis-matched couple continues.

I did not have high hopes for this show, but I did hope that at least the first episode would be interesting.  How many terrible sci-fi stories have at least an interesting first 15-20 minutes, before falling apart?

I can't believe that a network bought this tripe - even Fox.

As a side note:  This is yet another "last on earth" movie that supposes a world after people with no bodies, abandoned cars or even trash in the streets.  People will not leave a very clean world behind.  It isn't even all that clean now.
