That's a great release, Memph!

Unfortunately the unclothed scenes seem to have been lost, but perhaps they'll still turn up somewhere. Not sure if Helga Line disrobed or not, but she certainly wasn't opposed to it. Do we really need to see more footage of naked Helga? Damn straight we do!

Also....it's unfortunate that this( censoring and or editing nude scenes in films) is becoming a trend in films. Even more often with boutique companies that produce DVDs and blurays .  ARROW , 88 Films and Vinegar Sydrome are following the censor trend.

I'm always up for more of Helga..it's a great bluray, indeed, I have ASSIGNMENT TERROR coming any day now.
The Assignment Terror release from Scorpion is frikkin' great as well. I've always been kind of an apologist for Assignment Terror. That shoot was troubled with money woes that limited quality, and it was very early in Naschy's career before he found his footing with La Noche de Walpurgis (watered down in the U.S. as the Werewolf Vs. The Vampire Woman cut). Anyway, the Scorpion Blu-ray shines new light on the best of the film with good picture and correct aspect ratio. It's akin to watching the film for the first time. The movie still has weaknesses but the good parts are accentuated- cool monster rally throwdowns (the Daninsky/Mummy fight is awesome), Michael Rennie and Karin Dor are really good, Craig Hill delivers as the hero, and ultra-cute Patty Shepard in "mod" attire. You'll enjoy that BD, my friend!

I was referring to it being common for European genre films back in the 1960s, and especially the nekkid 1970s, for the same scenes to be shot in clothed versions and nude versions for the different markets (for example, Spain was harsh on nudity and France couldn't get enough). The U.S. often did their own censoring in different parts of the country, and even in different theaters (the Bible Belt was generally tight a$$ed, and most other areas let all hang out to put butts in seats, or drive-ins).

I didn't realize new releases were commonly being censored. I know things are censored these days for political correctness, but in this day of ubiquitous porn it seems weird to censor nudity. I've bought a lot of BDs from Severin, Vinegar Syndrome, Grindhouse Releasing, Scorpion, Code Red, Kino Lorber, etc., and I don't think I've run into any missing nudity (and I would be aware  ;)). Any specific examples you could point to?

Mike...In 3-D!

This pandemic has been hell on my wallet. With a ton of companies running sales I've been going nuts. I've probably added about 20 titles to my movie library since the stay at home order went into effect in Michigan. Scream Factory is to blame for most of it, but I picked up a few Arrow titles, too.

The same for me. Vinegar Sydrome and Amazon are taking my money.

Tales of Frankenstein?

Yeah, I'm curious about that one too.  I know that show they never ended up making past a pilot was supposed to be called that.

EDIT:  Found a blurb.  Seems like a recent thing.

Based upon four of writer-director Donald F. Glut's short stories published in his book TALES OF FRANKENSTEIN: "My Creation, My Beloved" (a deformed descendant of Victor Frankenstein creates the perfect man and woman), "Crawler from the Grave" (another Frankenstein descendant's disembodied, plague-infected arm returns from the grave for revenge), "Madhouse of Death" (a private detective winds up in an old dark house filled with loonies...and a gorilla) and "Dr. Karnstein's Creation" (a mad doctor creates a monster in vampire-haunted Transylvania - with gruesomely unexpected results).Tales of Frankenstein

TALES OF FRANKENSTEIN is an independent film made by Don Glut with a decent cast and some entertaining stories. Well worth a look if you're into anthology films(especially with this kind of subject).
