There are ridiculous prices for them on Amazon and evilBay but you can find them cheaper with the occasional auction. I got extremely lucky finding that Strangler DVD in "new" condition for $12.99 and free shipping on a Buy It Now (it even arrived undamaged  :o). Just save some searches and be patient... that's what I did. Also, Strangler is available as a MOD for around 15 bucks. Haven't checked to see if the others are available as MODs. Too bad the originals are copy-protected.

Just checked Amazon out of curiosity and Devil Bat's Daughter and The Brute Man are available as MODs. The original DVD for The Flying Serpent is still very cheap.

Mike...In 3-D!

The Krampus bluray and the Scream Factory Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 & Death Becomes Her blurays showed up today. I'm a fairly happy man.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll just go with the MODs on these.

Here's a question for any and all concerning the life of computer burned discs vs. the life of factory pressed discs. Just what are the life expectancies of burned discs, and pressed DVDs, and pressed Blu-rays?

From what I've heard the pressed DVDs are expected to outlast the burned discs, but are Blu-rays expected to outlast pressed DVDs?

From my own personal experience I have pressed DVDs from up to 17 years ago, and burned DVDs from up to around 12 years ago, and I haven't discovered any discs breaking down.

Another question is- Does playing the discs frequently hasten their digital info breakdown appreciably, or is it mostly a case of time causing the breakdown. As hot as a disc gets during play I assume the more it's played the shorter life it will have.

Anyone have any facts or theories regarding the answers to any of these questions?  ???

Nope! I'm sure there's research somewhere on the net about it, though.

I haven't had any burned DVDs for very long, but I've had burned audio CDs for over a decade that still play as good as ever.

For all you Creature fans out there. I didn't know this existed. It's also available on DVD. Saw it available here:

Creature Feature 60 Years of the Gill-Man Blu-Ray:

The story behind the creation and distribution of the classic genre film, Creature From the Black Lagoon. Narrated by Keith David, clips, cast interviews and exclusive photos take the viewer on a journey down Monster Lane.

"Creature Feature: 60 Years of the Gill-Man," packs the most comprehensive information ever compiled about the Creature From the Black Lagoon into a svelte 1 hour and 14 minutes (though they have hours of extra bonus features available). The film is about the era surrounding the creation and distribution of the influential Universal Horror Film, "Creature From The Black Lagoon," and is out now to commemorate its 60th Anniversary.

Picked up a couple of old-school sci-fi flicks the other day:

I retract this recommendation for oldies.com. In a recent order I received from them they displayed major problems with quality control and customer service. I have another order on the way and after that I won't be doing any more business with them.

The artwork on "The Living Coffin" is pretty rad HH. I'm not familiar with this film. Any good? I love the horror/Western cross-over premise. I'm surprised more movies don't mash the genres up. I still have to see Bone Tomahawk.

Haven't watched it yet, geez, but I'll post a little review when I do.

I like the Monster/Western subgenre too. Some others that come to mind are:

Valley Of Gwangi
Curse Of The Undead
Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter
Billy The Kid Vs. Dracula
The Beast Of Hollow Mountain
The Shadow Of Chikara
