New Wolfman Movie

Dose anyone have any information on the new Wolfman movie? I don't know how others feel but I myself feel that the classics should be left alone! After all how can one improve on perfection?

 True enough the original WolfMan was sheer perfection, no arguement here.  But I would like to see Hollywood start doing more things with the classic monsters. Sometimes it works out nicely, such as Carpenter's version of The Thing.  The pictures of the Wolfman make-up I've seen looks great and very promising, as does the trailer. I for one will support this in the theater, in hopes it will bring Hollywoods attention back to our beloved Classic Monsters if it does well.  Maybe even start a new generation of monster fans.

Indeed!  The scene where the Frankenstein monster is unintentionally swinging around like Tarzan just about made me puke.  The entire movie was a travesty.

And it looked so promising when it started out in black and white during the creation scene....Only to become a sleigh ride to hell almost immediately afterward.

I don't mind remakes like this.I think the original movie is untouchable,so if this one is bad it won't reflect on The Wolfman at all.If it's good it'll just revives interest in the original.We might get a whole lot more Universal Monsters products if this film hits big.

I don't know very much, but I like the classic movies myself.  Updated movies of classics are never as good to me.  Computer colorizing is the worst!

 Even Hell couldn't tollerate the stench of the Van Helsing abomination.  I also love the original classics Laura, but I really think we will all be pleased with the coming Wolfman remake.  The make-up FX are just amazing and realistic looking, just hope the story is as well written.  The Victorian setting is a definite plus.  If indeed this does turn out to be another Van Helsing, I'll supply the Tar and Feathers.

Everyone knows I am not a fan of remakes and this one is no exception. You can't remake a classic. However, I do hope it does well and then maybe Universal might wake up and see that there is still a fan base for the classic monster movies. It should bring attention back to the  often imatated and never duplicated original Wolfman. If it does bomb then years from now when the 18 to 24 year old target audience gets our age, I'm afraid when someone mentions the Wolfman they will think of the remake and remember that as a bad movie rather than think of the original. As for the makeup, Rick Baker can never seem to get the teeth the right scale. I have not been a fan of his since I saw the horrible 1976 remake of King Kong which was a guy in a monkey suit designed by Baker and not very convincing.

That was the only part of Van Helsing that was worth anything.  Do you think the creators ever got wind that the fans didn't like this movie?  I'm for certain they did, but do you think the creators realized the movie was garbage when they were making it?

The new Wolfman (notice it's not Wolf Man) movie looks like it might be good.  I'm glad they placed it in the Victorian era.

I just read where the guy that either produced or directed the Hellboy movies has a deal with Universal Studios to do a Frankenstein movie? Dose anyone no if this is true and have more information on it?

I've lost track of the number of projects supposedly in Guillermo Del Toro's lap. He's supposed to be on THE HOBBIT alone til the mid-two-thousand-teens, and just yesterday a local rag reported he's doing a version of PINOCCHIO. I love the guy's style and enthusiasm but there are so many titles floating around him, he can't live long enough, even if he's just producing half of them, not directing. .... Will we see a HELLBOY 3? Will he direct? And if so, before 2020? He's 'supposed' to have been campaigning Universal to put the UMs in that....   

though the success of the WOLFMAN remake would probably have some bearing on that.
