Oh! I was thinking of that series of spoofs of modern horror movie franchises. 

I think I saw the first one in a theater and was unimpressed.  Never seen any of the sequels.

I really HATED what they did to all the costumes showing up at my door on Halloween.  Every 3rd kid wore that stupid mask and a black robe.  I put it down to lazy thinking on the kids' and parents' parts.  I wanted to see much more variety and maybe even a few Universal Monsters.
